Hey guys, here's a list of suggestions from me that I think would greatly benefit the game, most of which I imagine are easy to implement.
These are made with the focus of increasing item accessibility with respect to the market economy, improving the general health of the game, and include simple but effective QoL changes.
I think it's important to add the details and reasoning for effective suggestions, so it'll be explained as well.
This is a long-winded post! If you're not interested in a suggestion just skip to the next section.
--------------------
Suggestion 1:
Add costume unbinding with an energy fee.
- All bound costume items, including shield costumes, can be unbound using item "Costume Recovery Ticket" at corresponding NPC's.
- The recovery ticket is purchasable from the Supply Depot for a fixed energy price.
- Unbinds occur at Bechamel (or a new NPC designed just for costumes).
This change would make old, unobtainable costumes much more accessible, adding a new layer to the depth of player cosmetics. It's probably been suggested and wanted for a decade now.
It would give players the opportunity to pay more than the player-suggested average cost for inexpensive, obscure costumes that may be difficult to find, while simultaneously lowering the cost of insanely expensive ones (Raging Rider Mantles, Chapeaus of the Prismatic Rose, etc).
Energy sink. In the current state of the game, we need more of those.

Suggestion 2:
Hire another Game Master with an economy-based role; somebody with keen market analysis skills who also plays the game. Details below.
- Delivers on the depot sale system for items/accessories that were previously announced on time, as well as play a hand in determining which items are listed.
- Handles the frequency and nature of featured auctions.
- Parses through old promotional boxes and determine whether they're better to be eventually rerun on the depot for energy or as a two-week promotion, or scrapped into direct depot/FA items (Arcane Halo, for example) after discussing with GH staff.
- Pitches ideas and utilizes current game mechanics to maintain crown/energy usage as needed.
- Understands the importance of energy rates and the game's dual currency system to strike a balance between incentivizing real-world currency energy/loot box purchases vs the health of the game for F2P/Casual players among other subtle intricacies.
- Hear out and consider but also reject playerbase suggestions for FA/Depot items. The playerbase is not always right and some suggestions may be a detriment to the game's health.
- Basic GM responsibilities.
Having a dedicated staff member for this role would greatly improve the game's economy and experience, as most players interact with the market/depot/auctions in some way.
A huge issue for players is being unable to either afford items due to inflation via supply/demand, or being unable to find them as the items themselves are relatively inaccessible. Cosmetics are the main movers of both in-game and real world currency in Spiral Knights, so the economy can be a major factor in deciding whether or not the players stay and spend.
Also, having an active GM would be nice. There's just not many around to help players for bugs or PR-related things.
This is the most important suggestion on this thread, and frankly there are players (myself included) who would fit and be interested in applying for the role.

Suggestion 3:
Change the system behind Guild Hall's default "open to public" setting.
Create a system which allows active guilds to have their hall be open to the public automatically without having to switch it manually.
This is a pretty open suggestion for a QoL change, but for example, maybe implement a custom settings list alongside what it is now that automatically opens/closes the hall based on number of people online. It's just a chore to open the guild hall and I'd like to see more active guild halls open to the public generally.

Suggestion 4:
Add a toggleable display for a standardized game time.
Maybe in military time?
It'd be nice to have an internal clock in there to make it easier to standardize times for community events or just as an easier time reference, especially since the player base is from all over the world. Would also be helpful for like arcade gate rotation and daily missions.
It's also incredibly easy to put into the game.
--------------------
Suggestion 5:
Just open all corresponding accessory slots to all costumes/equipment, except for any expiring costumes.
Aside from expiring costumes, all helm costumes/equipment would have their top, side, front, and back slots available.
Aside from expiring costumes, all armor costumes/equipment would have their front, back, rear, ankle, and aura slots open.
Initially, slots were not available due to obvious accessory clipping issues I.E, it wouldn't make sense. Nowadays, accessories have become so numerous and diverse that they clip anyway with certain costumes. Heck, even helm costumes clip with armor costumes themselves, also because of costume diversity now.
In terms of things not making sense, let's refer to the infamous wrench on armor back slots. They're floating in mid-air for most costumes already. Many, many head accessories clip now as there're many different shapes and sizes of helm costumes.
Opening all slots would clearly cause more clipping issues, frankly who cares. Players pick and choose based on what they like anyway regardless of clipping issues.
It would give the playerbase more creative freedom with their costumes, which only promote a greater need for accessories. It's QoL and player stimulation; a combination that only benefits both the game and the company.

(continuing onto the first comment as the thread is too long)
Suggestion 6:
Condense "energy received" mail from supply depot on login so we don't have to accept a ridiculous number of mails.
--------------------
This is probably the most "out there" idea.
Suggestion 7:
Level Building Mode.
- A mode where players can build by block, levels or reversible tiles that other players can test with a rating system (if monsters are included, either stagnant and un-interactable, or no drops included).
- Levels/maps and tiles that are popular may be tweaked for gameplay balance then added into clockwork arcade's random generation upon staff agreement.
Building levels is like a game in itself and I imagine some creative folks would have a lot of fun with it! That being said, why not just use the ones with impressive design quality into the game itself? People have been complaining about lack of content for ages, so it'd be a good way to kill two birds with one stone, while also breathing life into the clockworks like we'd felt when first starting.
We also already have something like this for the coliseum, so it isn't a stretch to put this into place.
This is just a basic idea and I'm sure it's probably been suggested before, but I think it's a good time to bring it back up as the game has been seeing more traction with new things recently.
--------------------
And that's all the suggestions I have! Thanks for making it this far. If anybody has thoughts on it, agree or disagree alike, please leave a comment down below.
I hope Grey Havens will take a look at this and consider any of these changes. We really need that market mod though, I think it'd fix a lot of issues and quell the uproar from changes that people disagree with lately (like the slime box frequency not doing what GH claims the aim is).
