A rant on Irontech Destroyer, and why it deserves a buff.

Today I'll be talking about Irontech Destroyer, one of my favourite bombs in the game that defines mediocrity and missed potential. I'll go over why I always thought the weapon was lacking, and the main ways I'd want the weapon buffed.

Why I believe ITD needs to be buffed:
In the current state of the game, Irontech Destroyer is meant to serve as the "middle brother" between Nitronome and Big Angry Bomb, hitting harder yet slower than Nitronome, while also being weaker yet faster than Big Angry Bomb. On surface, the concept of a medium-weight bomb doesn't sound bad at all, but the current execution of this bomb is just done way too poorly to earn it any significant spotlight; Irontech Destroyer inherits TOO many glaring weaknesses of Big Angry Bomb (sluggish movement speed penalty while charging, lengthy detonation time) while not providing nearly enough utility to stand apart from Nitronome. These problems combined leave the weapon in obscurity, as it's considered vastly inferior to both Nitronome and Big Angry Bomb.

How I would want to buff ITD:
As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, movement speed and detonation timer are identical to BAB on this weapon, which makes them the two biggest weaknesses. I believe that Irontech Destroyer would benefit substantially from better movement speed. It doesn't have to be completely liberating, like Nitronome's movement speed, I'd imagine it to be somewhat closer to gun-kiting speed, which, yes, while noticeable, still leaves enough mobility to dodge attacks consistently and get away from enemies. Detonation time is currently the same as BAB, which sits at 4 seconds, I believe lowering it to 3 would be good enough as Nitronome takes 2 seconds to detonate.

I don't expect these changes to immediately make Irontech Destroyer a good weapon, but I'm hoping that it'll at least elevate the weapon from "painfully average" to "perfectly average". The impact on the overall META will be minimal too, due to just how unpopular the weapon is, so meddling with the weapon in my opinion is completely safe and will not affect the majority of the playerbase.
That is all.
Take care, don't forget to Irontech Destroy.

Agree on the buff, but also

Can We, to those buff, add: DMG Bonus vs Construct: High?

Yes, that the Deconstructor and Heavy Deconstructor bonus... my proposition is make the Heavy Deconstructor a reskin of the Irontech Destroyer, but where that reskin would be avaiable? in the Anvil in Operation Crimsom Hammer... just like Jack Froster is a Mere (no less of a Merit of doing the event) craftable reskin of the Shivermist Buster

So in that regard the BaB is the: "Let's take down EveRrYthinG!"
the new ID would effectively be: "let's take out everything a little less faster, except construct, those explode harder, not necessarily faster but harder!"
and the Nitronome remains as: "Let's explode things "

Overall, with the changes You propose ID remains mostly Effective against all enemies families and a bit more efective against constructs... It would be a Roamulus Twin Dismantler Bomb, there are none of those... Yet. And a lot less Constrictive on the use, permiting New (not necessarily new to the game) players to play with it, to see if they like it.
