Put your hardhats on Knights, we need your assistance!

At approximately 10 am game time on the 18th we will be releasing an update to all game clients. This time is subject to change and possible there is some extended downtime of 90 mins while we work behind the scenes. This release, among other things, will update the Java version the clients are using. This is a major update to modernize clients which will enable us to do a lot of things we otherwise cannot. Nothing about the gameplay itself has changed, these are all under the hood changes. This, along with our previous server updates, should help player's games run a lot smoother.

Unfortunately, when dealing with code that is in some cases over a decade and a half old, there can be a number of unexpected issues. While we don't anticipate any major problems, it's quite possible that some players will experience issues depending on their computer's setup. This is where we need your help. If you run into issues, do not panic! We'll be watching and working behind the scenes to get you back into the game.

Please help us by reporting any new issues you're experiencing in the Technical Issues Forum or sending an email to support@spiralknights.com. When reporting a problem, please check to make sure someone else didn't already report your issue before creating a new thread. Please include details about what's happening, the OS you're running, and if you are using Steam or the standard client. We might ask you for logs or other additional information depending on what's going on.

Please be aware that if there are issues that we need to address, we will be issuing followup releases with shorter notice. This means Tuesday is not a great day to plan a long Arcade run in case we have to reboot the servers multiple times.

These are large changes and represent a lot of work by some very dedicated people. Hopefully all goes well and we've taken a huge step forward towards modernizing the game.

Release Delayed

Unfortunately, we found an issue with the Windows installer and are going to push this release back while we get that fixed. We're now planning on a release tomorrow (2/18) at 9am game time.

Update: Known Issues

Update:

- If you get a message that "Windows protected your PC", please click more info and then download the update anyway. We're working on that issue.
- If you were having an issue with Steam installations, please try again now. We believe most of those are now fixed.
- If you are using the standalone client and get stuck in what feels like an update loop where it keeps asking you to update, please uninstall the game entirely and reinstall it.

Update:

As of now, most of the issues causing problems for people trying to update have been resolved. If you're running into problems, please try to uninstall your game entirely and then reinstall. If you continue to have issues, please let us know in the Technical Issues Forum. Similarly, once you're in game please let us know if you're seeing any other issues that are new after this update. Please also file a /bug report so we can review your logs.
