Put your hardhats on Knights, we need your assistance!
At approximately 10 am game time on the 17th we will be releasing an update to all game clients. This time is subject to change and possible there is some extended downtime of 90 mins while we work behind the scenes. This release, among other things, will update the Java version the clients are using. This is a major update to modernize clients which will enable us to do a lot of things we otherwise cannot. Nothing about the gameplay itself has changed, these are all under the hood changes. This, along with our previous server updates, should help player's games run a lot smoother.
Unfortunately, when dealing with code that is in some cases over a decade and a half old, there can be a number of unexpected issues. While we don't anticipate any major problems, it's quite possible that some players will experience issues depending on their computer's setup. This is where we need your help. If you run into issues, do not panic! We'll be watching and working behind the scenes to get you back into the game.
Please help us by reporting any new issues you're experiencing in the Technical Issues Forum or sending an email to support@spiralknights.com. When reporting a problem, please check to make sure someone else didn't already report your issue before creating a new thread. Please include details about what's happening, the OS you're running, and if you are using Steam or the standard client. We might ask you for logs or other additional information depending on what's going on.
Please be aware that if there are issues that we need to address, we will be issuing followup releases with shorter notice. This means Tuesday is not a great day to plan a long Arcade run in case we have to reboot the servers multiple times.
These are large changes and represent a lot of work by some very dedicated people. Hopefully all goes well and we've taken a huge step forward towards modernizing the game.
