I’m opening this thread mainly to start a discussion and bring some hope that Spiral Knights might be revived, even if only slowly. Given the recent updates, it looks like the game devs are at least trying to modernize the game, and who knows—maybe in the future they’ll add new content that isn’t just cosmetics.

That said, is it possible that in the not too distant future we might finally see the Water Temple? For some background for those who don’t know about it, way back in the stone age, the community was promised that a new level called the Water Temple would be added. It was never made clear whether it would be a new boss or simply a new type of level, like the vaults or the Core levels.

For those who think I’m making this up, it’s true, I believe it was mentioned in an official statement, and on top of that, some of the tile designs, level components, and other assets are actually in the game files. Not only that, but at one point they even added some NPC knights below Haven’s spawn area who, when you interacted with them, mentioned the existence of this level (clearly as a setup for a future release).

I don’t think they’re suddenly going to announce anything, much less confirm it here in this post, but what do you all think? Could new content be on the way? Or are they just going to stick to updating Java and little else?
