TLDR;
The community and retaining player base is the driving factor of monetization and game interest. Instead of trying to make money from a spark of life (which they can just restart the mission). Build a fun game with a community, make players feel like they can help others and receive help from others. In turn, this will start the fly wheel for everything again.

We are seeing an influx of returning players. This game has its characters that have allowed it to flourish and be one of the most popular games on the planet at one point, and I think its still got the bones and muscles to do so with a couple minor tweaks.

1. Revive your teammate with half your health, when you have 1 bar, you can even give your friend half a bar.

This was one of the most heart felt features that I feel like this game had to begin with. This is how players bond with each other and introduce social interactions that continuously drive this game forward. Increased player base, player bond, and community.

2. Mist/Energy for elevators (Make it feel like doing the dungeons is an investment.)

There needs to be pain for there to be gain. This incentivizes players who are less experienced to find players who are more experienced to ensure completion of their investment, back to the community portion.

3. Rethink the forge crystals heating logic. (I feel like this was a tedious feature)

Anyway, these are all thoughts, I'm sure it can be done better. Throw your ideas down below --- and devs/managers, let's think long term.

Is this a troll?

I, and most people I know, do miss reviving teammates.

Nobody I know misses elevator energy costs and mist energy by association. Hearing that as a suggestion to return makes me genuinely believe you are acting in bad faith. It is genuinely, the worst suggestion I have ever heard of.

Forging is whatever, a bit too grindy, a bit silly, makes heat feel kinda meaningless, and in particular rads are too grindy to amass, there's a bunch of ways that that could be alleviated though to make it not feel annoying. Like making forging possibly at any floor, or automated, and making rads appear in all of S6 instead of just half, or making more varied options to farm them, like moving danger missions to the latter half of S6.

private equity is a blight

leave the linkedin lingo at the door please.

that said, being able to revive teammates with your own health was a good feature. bringing it back to the game would be nice.

absolutely not to paid elevators again. it was dumb idea back then and its still a dumb idea. if mist was to come back at all, I'd accept it to be used exclusively for the various arcade usables. think danger room gates and mechaknights.

forge could use sprucing up. its really the radiant grind that kills the momentum. a 5* weapon doesn't even reach the same damage as a maxed 4* until level 7. combined with the tiny chance of radiants dropping and the odds of failing the forge, its just an awful time. bumping up drop rates and availability wouldn't fix the inherent problems of forging, but it would at least make it feel less bad.

huh

Mist/Energy for elevators was in the game originally, and it made people see this game as a cheap phone game. I'm 100% sure that SK would've kept much more of the players it got back on release if it hadn't started off with the mist system.

Forge crystals are... they provide consistent progression. Just need somewhat higher drop rates. The real killer are alchemy orbs which are just a huge roadblock and feel bad as you can't upgrade anything for multiple runs and you need to trade paid currency for them, so it feels like another bad phone game system.

I was a bit confused since by the thread title I expected a comment like "This game needs better advertising" or something more technical like that, not game mechanic discussion. To clarify I'm not saying that you can't discuss the game mechanics but like, that was just the kind of advice I'd look for from a startup founder.

Alchemy orbs are not actually a roadblock

@Pepperoucheau: Alchemy orbs only seem as a roadblock until players realize they can trade crowns -> energy -> orbs, if they don't find enough orbs.
Let's say you need 3x Elite Orb of Alchemy to get on with 4 Star Certification -> 400E -> about 17kcr to 24kcr (depending on E price) -> Since they already have 3 Star Certification at that point, they can do 3 to 8 Tier 2 Arcade runs on elite (or equivalent other missions) to get them, for example. (Well and there is this one Mission they could alternatively loop, but it's boring as hell.)
Maybe they need to do this a few times to get all the things they need to 4 star, but that also increases their chance to find orbs (if they do it in the correct stratum).
This is not so bad and gets people to play this nice game and maybe join up with others to be able to go deeper together in elite mode, instead of just rushing through and then quitting or entering a vana loop. People just have to realize this is a good fallback to trade crowns -> energy -> orbs. It could be advertised better.

First off, OPs comment on mist energy makes me think they were a paying member of the old SK community. As an 11 year old who had no credit card, elevators costing energy was absolutely the downright worst thing ever. You ever find a game you really really like, and boom, oops you can only do 10 levels otherwise you need to pay? Imagine minecraft only allowing you to play 10 in game days and then ask for money for more.

I do love the revive teammates with half health. I only wish theyd make a few more missions in the core that give good cr and radiants. Im swimming in over 5k shinings, but still dry on radiants for heating my gear.

Another thing that (hopefully is coming) will help is community sourced arcade missions.

I also think they need to engage with the economy a bit more. More SD listings, more AH listings.

Another easy change would be rewarding full clockworks runs. Imagine if you got a bonus of 15k-20kcr for doing a full 1-29 clockwork run. Having a reward for playing the arcade would give the game much more replayability for those who love grinding cr

God knows GH wont read or implement any of this, but its fun to imagine the game in a more healthy space

It would be nice to have some furnishings in depot btw

Depot could have sales for example, from the Moorcroft Furniture or Almire Furniture sets.
I noticed there is barely any furniture in AH and if so, its Winterfest stuff :/
