Given that the game has received an engine update, pvp map editor and some extra tweaks - I'm hopeful for a few lil' goodies to come in later down the line and as such here's my 'bucket list' of suggestions that I'd love to personally see in the game:

Arcade and Gameplay Loop
  1. Reintroduction of gate contribution system - I'd love to see reintroduction of the gate contribution system to allow the community their preferred gates. However, as sprites currently use our crystals, an additional resource could be added to the crystals that is specifically used for the system.
  2. Personal arcade gates - It'd be lovely see an option to craft personal arcade gates utilizing arcade blueprints that require some resources to craft and exponentially more as you insert them into your personal arcade gate. Each personal arcade gate should have the same length as the normal ones.
  3. Making arcade competitive with loot - As the current meta currently revolves around running bosses and specific missions, we could see a couple of additions to arcade that'd make it compete with the current meta:
    • Stratum rewards should be stacking instead of resetting per tier in arcade
    • Boss and boss-adjacent floors should have increased loot drops
    • Bosses drop additional tokens
    • Arcade is more likely to generate all 3 floors of themed depths (stralight cradle torporal titan being an example) in even stratums
  4. Tweaks to the existing difficulties - The higher the difficulty, the more loot you get - but there should be repercussions for playing on higher difficulties. Emergency revive should be disabled on advanced and higher. Sparking could be weaker on elite. Additional changes could be implemented to make elite depths more dangerous than before.
  5. Challenging difficulty - A difficulty above elite which offers greater challenges that could be in form of elemental monsters losing their weakness or gaining defense against it, some monsters dealing different damage types. Hastened monsters etc. This could add additional reward modifier to loot as well.
  6. Redistribution of alchemy and forge shards - There's a huge community outcry to make radiants easier to obtain, but ideally we'd see a general rebalance:
    • 1* available from strata 1 only
    • 2* available from strata 1 (very rare) and 2
    • 3* available from strata 2 (very rare), 3 and 4 (uncommon)
    • 4* available from strata 4 , 5 and 6 (very rare)
    • 5* available from strata 5 (very rare) and 6

The goal is to rebalance progression for newer players and allow veterans to have an easier time target farming 4* orbs of alchemy and 5* crystals. This, however, might cause issues with the 5* orbs later down the line if it were to be implemented exactly how I've written it.

  7. Every zone should have a chance to generate event rooms - It should be possible for Lichenous Lair or Compounds to generate event rooms. The meta during events shifts to run exclusively the pathway depths
  8. Strong chase rewards available from every monster family - There's currently no reason to run Beasts, Constructs, Fiends, Gremlins (if you do not account for DFS) and Undead monster families (this is not accounting for events). Slimes offer a chance to drop slime coins which can save you some cr in the casinos, but even then - it's not worth target farming Slimes either. That's all monster families that currently do not offer anything interesting for players to farm. We could use rare monster spawns that are missing from Fiend, Beast and Gremlin to render a bunch of 'yooo, that's cool' moments during arcade runs. Which brings me to another point.
  9. More unique and rare monster spawns! - I'd love to see a happy klepto just following you around, not trying to steal items and instead may drop something cool. Imagine if the mewkat had a chance to drop an 'imitation key' that could open any container for free (probably with few limitations), or the said friendly klepto guaranteeing a gear drop with a random UV (given its rarity, it'd be only fair) or straight up UV tickets. I'd personally love to see a friendly wolver that you have to protect until you reach the elevator to yield a sprite pod with elemental variant of the rescued wolver.
  10. Additional difficult rooms - Additional challenges that are free to access in most floors, should offer a significant challenges for even better rewards. Maybe buffs for the rest of the arcade run?
  11. Non-linear progression through arcade - Allow pathway floors to generate more elevators that can lead to a challenging variant of a sub-floor in the rotation of the depth below the one you're one.
  12. The '?' floors should have a chance to be swarmed - Any time you go down a '?' elevator, there should be a chance for the floor chosen to be invaded by swarm. When that happens, the floor could be treated as the lowest depth in that tier (T1 - 7, T2 - 17, T3 - 28). The chance for that to occur should increase the lower you are in a given tier. The formula could look like this (all translated into flat % after): 1 + [Tier] + (Number of floors in a run x tier). For floor 26 it'd look like this: 1 + 3 + (8 x 3) = 28%. We could guarantee this on floors 6, 16 and 27 as a flat jump to 100%.
Current system and Haven changes
  1. Consider deleting BP vendors from the hall of heroes - I think that this could benefit everyone, giving players another avenue of making money by running arcade and farming for specific recipes.
  2. More event presence - Decorate the entire haven during events! I'd love to see a really spoke haven during halloween, random kats floating about during BK event.
  3. Merge all Haven maps into one - I think that at this point it'd be okay to merge all Haven maps into one. Granted that the way the engine currently handles VFX might cause some PCs to explode, so, that'd need to be fixed beforehand.
  4. Haven incentives/Community contributions - Imagine if you, as a part of the community, had to contribute to refurbish a part of Haven, succeeding in which gives everyone a buff to XYZ for a duration.

Hit some kind of character count with the previous one
Arcade and Gameplay Loop part 2
  1. Bounty boards and challenge goals - Imagine that starting a new T3 presents you with a bounty board right in front of the elevator and a podium on which you can undertake additional challenges within a run (if you've played Fable 1, you know what I'm talking about. Here's how both of them could function:
    • Bounty Board - A random set of targets to meet within a run that generate upon loading into the D0, D8 and D18 runs, it'd appear thematically appropriate depending on the location (spookier in the Moorcroft, more Gremlin themed in Emberlight). Upon interacting with it, an interface is brought up where you can read up on the bounties set that you can achieve during that run and receive some in-run boosts, boosts for a next run or straight up rewards. This could range from a basic +1 carry cap for x amount of runs to being able to carry multiple minerals for a remainder of a run, for the next few runs or treat it as a timed boost. Direct rewards could include some CR, small amounts of energy and a choice of rarities. Maybe even cosmetics bound to the bounty board? With all of those in mind, players should have an option to modify the difficulty of generate challenges and by choosing higher difficulty ones - they'd get an option to choose the reward they'd want. Alternatively, they can set the reward to be random to receive it in a higher value than if you were to choose it directly (it'd also allow for bounty board only cosmetics to be granted unbound). Bounty boards should not spawn in mission lobbies (this includes boss mission lobbies like FSC).
    • Challenge goals - Stand on a podium and accept limitations within a run to receive additional rewards, boosts, buffs and all for that run. We could tie in some kind of a trophy system that displays the icon of the gate that the run was completed in as a 3d object. It could come in 5 variants spread out depending on the tier done and additional 2 for completing the entire gate with accepted challenges (D1 through D28) with deaths and without deaths. The cosmetic appearance could be taken further depending on the challenges that were accepted. By accepting all of them, it could have a very fancy look when placed down in a guild hall, which is where it could be examined for the player name, date of completing and the gate name it was completed in. For the rewards, boosts and buffs it'd have to be something that's not straight up gameplay altering; things like straight up crown boost, +1 cap to carried consumables, higher odds of equipment drops or red/purple boxes appearing in a run and ability to carry all minerals (slight overlap with a bounty board, but there should be more than 1 avenue of getting that boost).
Microtransations
  1. Pull out all functional gear out of long bygone, current and future boxes, and redistribute them as rewards from gameplay - Or just allow players to farm for them without having to pay another player for boxes, I think that this system is not ideal. This should include functional reskins (gun pup, orbit guns, soaker etc.) It'll potentially devalue the paid boxes which might not be great financially for GH, but I think that it's fair given the barrier of entry to get things like an orbit gun.
  2. Better supply depot discounts - I don't think that there's anyone that's willing to pay almost a full energy price for a clean 5* weapon, better odds are that someone would pay for a 5* clean weapon if it were lets say 50% off. This could extend to supply depot cosmetic specials.
  3. Energy pass - Alternative way of unlocking all weapon and trinket slots for $5.99 a month at once instead of spending energy. Both options could remain available to let players pick and choose.
  4. Offer box tokens instead of paid boxes - Same price for way more options to choose from. 1 use per special box from:
    • All new boxes released within a quarter
    • Developer-selected bygone boxes
    • Seasonal boxes released within that quarter

Give players limited choices on what they want to spend money on. Any bygone boxes being available could have an option to open for energy or something farmable in-game (being late to the party shouldn't punish players that want some cool cosmetics).

Enemy rebalance suggestion
  1. Fiend monster family - Most of the enemies in the fiend monster family feel absolute awful to fight due to either dodging or exhibiting random erratic behavior, here's a couple of suggestion to improve the experience:
    • Devilites - Reduce how often each devilite can dodge.
    • Gorgos - Reduce, remove or make the idle flying sway more predictable.
    • Greavers - Remove the status cloud the greavers leave, it's just straight up annoying whacking each one and accidentally missing one just because the way it dashed wasn't something that I predicted.
  2. Beast monster family - This mostly goes out to wolvers who feel awful to fight if you don't bring a magnus type gun as a gunner:
    • Wolvers and Alpha Wolvers - Redesign the way the wolvers dodge. This enemy feels like is designed to punish gunner playstyle. I have no idea how one could go about redesigning the way they dodge. Simplest solution would be to add a consistent cooldown after each dodge or some kind of exhaustion mechanic to them.

Thank you for coming to my Ted-talk.

Update #1

Fixed a bunch of text to make it sound less like drunken sailor's ramblings.
Added a suggestion about a difficulty above elite.
Added a suggestion about fiend family rebalance (as it feels awful to fight most of the time).

I'd love to know whenever it's allowed for players to link google spreadsheets. I'd like to tackle armor and weapon rebalances next which I think would be best suited under a spreadsheet.
