Divine Avenger status affliction suggestion

Just like Gran Faust can curse enemy targets hit by its second swing or charge attack, I feel giving Divine Avenger (and Avenger) a status affliction of its own can help it match both the Gran Faust line and their base form of the Sealed Sword. The Seraphynx also has Disintegration Ray, which also lowers enemy defenses. So I thought this addition to the Avenger line based off that ability could help make the sword stronger to match the Gran Faust line and better match each other and their base weapon. Anyone else feel this could be a fitting addition to the Divine Avenger while keeping the divinity theme?

EDIT: On second thought, I'll make it a healing pad instead like the Gremlin Menders. But a very low chance of it appearing to not need to change the damage of Divine Avenger at all. The damage is already great without defense down according to everyone else anyway. So I hope this can be a better compromise to find something that can match the Sealed Sword and Gran Faust.

DA is already so good why would you not give a defence debuff to weapons that fill no niche, like 6 shooters? Lore wise I cant imagine the DA has any reason to inflict a status given its supposed to be this holy sword embodying purity...

DA's advantage over Faust is having a stronger charge attack that isn't liable to put you in time-out for half a minute unless you buy weapon slots or have remedy capsules. Poison occupied the role of Def Down before Def Down was a thing but it's inconsistently applied by most sources, too unreliably to matter in most cases as the ~10% extra damage enemies take won't budge the hits it takes to kill them by the time Poison triggers. Mostly it's the anti-heal and atk cut that gives it value as a status. Wouldn't say no to poison proc rates on our weapons being more reliable...

I agree with you Draycos, but thought that Defense Down like the Disintegration Ray could have been nice at the time. If not, how bout I swap that instead for a very low chance at creating a healing pad like the Gremlin Menders to keep the divinity theme? But add another effect as well. Doesn't have to have that strong an effect also.

Also, I wish poison proc was better too. And speaking of which, I wish Biohazard and Neutralizer got rebalancing to be good again. And possibly a stunning elemental Neutralizer too. But that's gonna be another story. Wish Vile Striker poison was better too.

Accidental double post

Sorry about the double post, that's my bad. But hope there might be something that could be added to the Divine Avenger for flavor that could possibly match the Sealed Sword and Gran Faust both. And I also hope we get a normal/piercing unsealed sword line too someday as well if possible. Would complete the trinity like with the Antigua line and would be very nice.

I would go with Poison...

I would go with Poison... Fits the theme of "Divine Avenger" being a poisonous mindset that drives people into Zealotry... So it Should apply Poison to the enemies and To YOU!

Not Poison, not "Divine" in the true sense

Sorry, but no Jcyrano, not poison at all. It fits something else instead of Divine Avenger. Usually darker weapons. Any "divine" weapon with poison would look much different. But for the Divine Avenger itself, a healing wave or a very low chance at a healing pad that heals the user and nearby allies would be much better for it. But a weak healing to not make it too strong and make us need pills still.

This is a solution without a problem

The DA is already a top tier weapon, it doesn't need any buffs or additional status effects.

Kinda see your point

I can see your point, just felt it might be nice for flavor to add another effect to better match the Sealed Sword and Gran Faust. So instead of def down, hope the low chance of a healing pad is better.

Heres an alternitive

I think it would be better to add a new weapon than to change a popular one, changing the DA is likely to anger people, either because they feel its too strong or because they liked it the way it was.
If you want to expand on the sealed sword line, why not a new weapon, give the sealed sword a 4* and 5* that keeps the random status effect, thatll give 2 status based weapons and a "standard" weapon.
I think the healing pad effect would make more sense on a bomb, maybe tying the health drop spawn to a chance on enemy hit.
