It is insane that we finally got another money making method that isnt vana, and GH patched it out. Like what are we doing here. That was dev time spent on making the game worse. Think before you guys push patches for the game.
Here are 5 suggestions for patches that will actually help the game. Not claiming all of these as my own, just what i think should be done after returning to the game for awhile.
- Add a constant rotation of accessories or old prize boxes to the supply depot for energy; and remove the energy options for crafting.
Simple, but will remove the need to rely on hoarders to get accessories, and make you guys some money while giving a use for E. The E prices are so low right now because there is no use for E besides building gear, which most of the players have already done. It is incredibly backwards that energy is only desirable if you are a brand new character building gear. Fire crystals and orbs and gear too should be wholesale removed from the supply depot. The whole thing gives off a very "pay2win" vibe to new players. Make them a guaranteed reward for getting to the end of an arcade stratum or fighting a boss or the like.
- Buff existing methods of making crowns that aren't Vana.
Also simple, and wouldn't take long to increase some numbers. I actually still enjoy running vana somehow; but it's hard to justify even booting up a game where i know i'm going to do the same mission over and over until i log off for the day.
- Public level editor for the actual game and not PVP.
This might be a bit of work to accomplish; but would be something fun to do and you could even reward players with costumes/energy/crowns for making levels that are approved into the game. This would also potentially increase the amount of stuff to do in game infinitely.
- 4th difficulty.
So we already have the 3 difficultly settings, of which everyone just defaults to elite for the most crowns. An additional difficulty be made, only available in the arcade, that changes certain aspects of levels. Maybe swapping mob types or giving them new attacks or status effects, or adding gimmicks like the Grimalkin to more stages. Something to make arcade more attractive than running missions, which put you instantly at the desired floor and stage.
- Add back reviving with HP splitting
Sparks of life can still exist; as a means to heal when everyone is dead or solo. But this was really great for a co-op game and i seriously doubt you are making even a dime from sparks of life sales.
All and all i expect literally nothing from GH after the crack farm removal.
They did explain in a different forum post that the crack farm was not intended to be part of the game rather the boxes were implemented to just help boost new players in early game, theres already enough arguments going on about that so thats as far as I'm gonna talk about that cause theres zero reason to bring that here.
"Add a constant rotation of accessories or old prize boxes to the supply depot for energy; and remove the energy options for crafting."
First part? Wouldn't be a bad choice especially how hollow the supply depot is, but the second part regarding energy? Sure lets get rid of the supply depot and have people mindlessly grind, for a lot of people the mindless grinding in arcade is already a struggle to get orbs, especially given the fact elite orbs seem to contend with eternals when you can get them as early as depth 16 (I'm actually serious, elites have such little spawn windows and they overlap with advanced and eternalss painfully) I just want energy to outright be back apart of crafting again outright. Hell I guess keep orbs as a alternative to save energy if need be.
"Buff existing methods of making crowns that aren't Vana."
Yeah this is just a complete agreeable situation we need Arcade to feel useful and its a point of argument for everyone so not much to say here.
"Public level editor for the actual game and not PVP."
I assume the level editor for coliseum only was a design choice to at least stress test the editor system with the public. I assume we will 100% get a clockwork level editor in the future.
"4th difficulty"
This is possible out of scope of possibility AT THE MOMENT mind you. I'd much prefer to see a rebalancing of the game involving its enemies and all our gear first before introducing a harder difficulty to the game.
"Add back reviving with HP splitting"
I do want to see a return in normal revive mechanics but with the percentage based health we have now I doubt it would come to fruition easily, though at most I could see something if they made it something like a 20% max health revive and that alone would be perfect. the old HP splitting was better suitied for pip health, so this is atleast an alternative
