Just place a buy or sell order of like 40 units and it will slowly shuffle its orders around to one up you. Remove the orders, and it will move its orders back up. It always has the same timing, very bot like.

It's definetely possible it's a bot, but actual ppl hang around all day and do this too. I suspect some have issues like emotional or autism/OCD to always have the cheapest bid. I actually don't really mind. Nor do I mind if the bot is doing the same the owner would do. At the end of the day the E market is a giant beast and no single player can have enough crowns or E to never run out.
When the market moves, the bot will run out as well as humans and it will be in a situation where it can't re-invest without loss. Some ppl thought they could manipulate the market, again and again, but it never realy worket out. It can do a small dent when someone puts up massive walls, but the the number of players using the market is enough to eat through all walls and even make bots mostly useless.

It is a bot, the timing and how it shuffles orders around makes it quite obvious. Play around with it on the market right now, it is actively running. I can never get my orders to fill, because the bot is always in front. It is quite annoying.

The bot is doing what it's owner can't do, which is watching the CE market all day so it can print in game money while the person running it is VERY likely doing something else. They cheat the vast majority of the crowns any legitimate player could be making with the same feature.
Let me remind you all automating the game in any way is against ToS. This isn't about whether you are (imo strangely) fine with it. Game says its cheating.
In fact, the person's been running the bot for a couple of weeks already, and I already emailed GH. GH curiously has not banned it yet, I'm hoping that means they are waiting for a ban wave, and not that they can't find who's doing it or it's tied to too major of an account.

For years, I observed behaviour similar to this from what I believe were humans. Maybe they/some were bots, idk.
Maybe not as fast. I have seen some ppl do magic with their number pad IRL tho, but I won't rule out it's a bot.
However, they always run out of currency at some point. That's why I'm kinda okay with it. Of course, if it's a bot, they violated the ToS and when they get banned, I'm okay with that, too.
Btw, if you can bait it very close to the point where it would lose money, can you buy it's offers, then put them for a price where you still make 0cr or 1cr? Will it run out even faster in that case?

This is certainly a bot. When the servers restarted sunday, the bot like behavior was gone for 3 hours or so until the owner brought it back online. If it was a dedicated person, that would not have happened. It is programmed to not lose money. The only way it could is if the price of energy took a wild swing in either direction, and even if that happens it only ever places ~100 orders at once so it is not risking its entire fortune. The only action we can take is to try to bring it to the game master’s attention.

GH could add CAPTCHA to the E market and/or restrict it to ppl who did other things in the game, like completing 2 maps in the last 10h or move around in un-bot-like manner or so.
They could also do this secretly to find bots, lol.

The bot was gone for about a week, and is now back online. It's behavior is different, it could be a different bot someone else wrote.

Bot is active again
It is moving trades on at a time to undercut people on the energy selling side.
Make it loose money, that will fix it.
