Previously, I would get ~100 ping on Australia regions (as it's the closest server to my country), but now I've returned to the game after the energy spikes update, I'm getting >300 ping now.

I've done that, yet issue persists
I have set the region to Australia, and have logoff and logged back in several times, played solo and still have 300 ping.
Check if you have "From IP" in the settings and if yes, change your server/region to Australia. You can do that by pressing Esc and changing the server/region to Australia and then saving it. Also, maybe you played with a host from the US/EU servers so your ping is high.
