I know it's possible but i ran what was listed on http://www.ubuntuvibes.com/2011/03/spiral-knights-new-game-from-makers-o... changing the java part to what i had and it seemed to work in my ubuntu vm. But when i ran it after the install it did the load then when it looked like the actual client would load it just flashed a few times then crashed giving me a dialog to come to the forums..

I dont think the video

I dont think the video chipset in your VM is good enough to play spiral knights, if your using virtualbox i can pretty much guarantee it - love virtualbox, just understand its limitations. Why the hell would you play SK in a VM anyway, its supported on all mainstream OS'

To play the game in linux you click the "play" button in your browser..

I know but i wanted to see if

I know but i wanted to see if it would work in ubuntu before i actually decided i would install ubuntu in the future, unless i messed up a setting in it's properties, i am acutally running it in virtual box so i thought it might work...i do have it running on windows but i wanted to run it on here when i took a break from learning terminal and all that...(for setting up my own personal server in the future :P)

It works fine in ubuntu, but

It works fine in ubuntu, but virtual machines are not ment to 3d gaming so it will probably fail if you try run it on one.

I was just running it in

I was just running it in Ubuntu 11.04 in WindowsXP Virtual box, Seamless Mode. And Windowed. It runs kinda slow but only because Virtualbox only allows me to use 1 of my processors not both and virtualbox it doesn't fully support my video card :/

Oh, I can definitely tell you

Oh, I can definitely tell you that it works in Ubuntu. The installer just works, it's beautiful. I run Spiral Knights in Linux daily, in windowed mode, fullscreen, while also running a shoutcast radio station... It's very nice.

In stark contrast, Terraria is a nightmare to get running on Linux. Even if you do the dozen steps correctly, it can still just fail.

Terraria runs on XNA, which

Terraria runs on XNA, which you can bet money on why it doesn't like running native under linux.
