I think we all agree that being in a guild feels rather disappointing right now. I think we all agree that this topic has probably been brought up plenty of times before. I didn't bother reading back on old posts that are any further then the first page of suggestions. I know all this and I figured I'd do my own thing anyway. I shall accept any and all constructive criticism.

Guild Warehouse
Specifications:
- Shared capacity to store all categories of non-bound items.
- In a window not unlike the Auction House.
- No listing or cancelling fee.
- No time restraint.
- Contributor and claimer to be visible.
- Items such as materials will have values placed per piece. e.g. If you want to put it in 10 blue shards, you must specify the cost of 1 blue shard.

Reason:
Just another means of making individual members feel like they are apart of a bigger whole. It's not really a game changing addition and it provides various convenient uses.

I imagine that it would look somewhat similar to the AH, with the exception of the bid and buy-out being replaced with claim and donation. To get an item from the Warehouse you must claim it and with the claim you may have the options of putting in a donation. Unlike the AH, all claims and donations should be visible. The claimed crowns and donation would probably be sent via mail anyway so having the option of a setting a personal appreciation message would also be cool.

Guild Bulletin Board
Specifications:
- Literally a bulletin board. Place messages for your guild to read.
- The ability for the Guild Master to sticky one message at a time as a priority note or something.
- Guild Master and possibly officers should be able to delete messages. Of course the original owner should be able to delete his own message.

Reason:
Some extra work for the many voluntary veterans within guilds. In all likelihood, a bulletin board will be used by people who want to request the finding of certain recipes or who need some excessive sum of a certain material. In which case, nice people may go out of their way to do some runs and deposit these requirements into the Guild Warehouse. Either that or the Guild Master may use it to organize some guild activities.

Guild Depth Count
Specifications:
- A counter that records each full depth a member has done while being in the guild.
- The counts of each member are summed to make the guilds total depth count.
- The counter records the completed depths as being either Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3.
- Contribution to depth count is directly related to the tier of the depth. e.g Tier 1 gives 2 to the total, Tier 2 gives 5, Tier 3 gives 10.
- After the guilds total depth count reaches a certain point, the guild title will change colour. For example; green after 500, red after 100000 etc..

Reason:
An individual depth count motivates members to do runs to give some e-peen points. A point system for the tiers is more practical then having each depth count as a single unit. This will provide incentive to do Tier 3 runs. A change of colour to the guild title will, in effect, provide a silent means of competition between guilds. It will also make veteran guilds more distinguishable. The depth count can also be used as a means for people to monitor their guilds overall activity as well as the activity of individual members.

These are great ideas! There

These are great ideas! There have been many suggestions for updating the guildhalls, but it seems that the devs are focusing more on clockworks content at the moment. We'll find out whether they've read any of our suggestions in the future, I guess.

I think there's something similar already being implemented? or are you talking about ACTUAL messages in mail?

/guild ---> is what i thought you meant. These messages are only received when members are online so it is different from mail in inbox if you meant that; in which case: GREAT IDEA!

Thieves

True. In every game with a shared storage system, there lies the difficulty of unethical thievery. However, for things such as guilds, that's a responsibility that the players take upon themselves when they choose to voluntarily contribute.

In anycase, I was aware of that possible scenario and that's why I suggested a claim and donation system along with the visibility of the contributor and the claimer. A contributor that is very conscious of the possibilities of theft and greed may choose to place items with ridiculously high claim prices. Since their name as a contributor would be along side the item this will motivate people to contact the owner directly. This is about the only way to go about using the system and be entirely risk free.

This system, more then anything, promotes a more friendly interaction between the more experienced members of the guild and the lesser experienced ones. Even if it's indirect, when a player claims something, he/she will know that they have attained it through the kindness of another. The option of providing an appreciation message with a claim would be good simply to establish a relationship of mutual trust. It's also a system that I believe is designed for the benefit of the silent and less social members of the guild. I'm sure when people start seeing more awkward and uncommon names appear as large scale contributors, it will have a far from negative impact.

A shared storage system is a system players utilize out of trust, generosity and compassion for one another. There will be people that want to take advantage of that. That is a risk, but it may very well also be the charm of it. There is value in belonging to a group that is capable of trusting each other. How would you feel as a guild master when seeing a full warehouse? How would you feel as a member and seeing a full warehouse? How would you feel as a recruit and seeing a full warehouse? My answer? I would be pretty damn friggen proud to be apart of this guild regardless of rank.

Er...somehow, I started ranting. So I'll just stop there.
