I ran into a problem when I tried to install a copy of Spiral Knights on my laptop. The game launches in a window and it starts playing the login menu tune, it's not non-responsive (at least Windows doesn't detect it as such), but I see no picture and the window doesn't refresh. It's not black, it just smears whatever other window I drag across it, such as the Steam window. Shutting down the game via the x symbol in the corner of the window works with no error messages, the tune plays fine and I can move the window around, but I don't get any video and I can't click on anything inside the window.

I checked, and the laptop does exceed the minimum system requirements by at least a fair bit, so I'm pretty sure this isn't a performance issue. Just for reference, the laptop is running:

Windows 7 Professional
GeForce 7900GS video card
Pentium Core Duo 1800GHz processor
4 GB of RAM

I have the latest drivers for my video card that nVidia will provide, I made sure I reinstalled to the latest version of Java and I'm more than certain I have plenty of space on the hard drive.

What could I try?

*edit*
Also, I moused over the window, and I discovered that I can actually click buttons on it, but I see no video on the actual screen. It's like nothing is being fed for my monitor to draw so it just keeps whatever was drawn in the window's borders before it opened.
