No, they CAN'T be robots. Why would they be robots? They're aliens guys. Right?
Answer this. Are they robots, or some alien knightform?

I think I remember seeing a post that said they were alien life forms known as Spirals, that serve in a the Spiral Order which explains why they're knights.
This is too Gurren Lagann (AKA too awesome) to be true.
BUT, I dont think they are robots, or at least not totally robots.
If you check the descriptions of some items, you will find some funny informations about food. So, they eat like humans, at least.
"In one of the recordings, an alpha team member mentions the need for water and fresh air or something." by the user "redten", on the "Lore?" topic.
Well, they are sentient and capable of rational thought and communication.
They adapt to their environments and design and build constructs to best suit that environment.
They have a sense and preference on temperature (EI: they are comforted by warm clothing as explained in descriptions for cold UV items and campfires). They require sustenance and air to survive.
They have gender identity, and a general society which has various views and opinions.
They exhibit emotions and trust/distrust towards the strangers.
I would definitely say they are at least some form of organic life form. It's hard to swallow that they are capable of all that and yet are still constructs. I really wish ThreeRings would give us some more lore and info on the cute little Spirals.
Really? I thought they were a race of Vivi's.
Well, either way, they most likely don't have hair, because if they did, that would make a helmet with pigtails on it even more ludicrous than it already is. :P
I don't think they're robots because there is no metal on their faces, just darkness and glowing eyes. I would assume that if they were robots their faces would shine.
Wouldn't the glowing eyes count as evidence for the theory that Spiral Knights are at least partially mechanical?
There are some creatures with glowing eyes. It could be a biochemical reaction with the energy or something.
Correct me if I'm wrong (And I probably am), but aren't organisms with bioluminescent eyes usually found in dark places?
Have genders, several times they mention food, fresh air, water, ect. in many of the descriptions of items/materials/recovered recordings.
/thread
Yeah, and the next thing you tell me, The Taalo are not sapient rocks, The Chenjesu are NOT sapient crystals capable of Faster Than Light communications, The Mmrnmhrm are NOT sapient robots and that the Snipes are actually interstellar horrors from beyond mortal ken.
Or that Herbert West does not build ridiculous giant robots. :3c
with #3 "This is too Gurren Lagann (AKA too awesome) to be true." =P
I'm pretty sure you're correct and who's to say that they're not from a dark place? Maybe their home world had limited sunlight. They spend some much time in armor maybe they needed ti see through it better.
There's one reason why I'm wishing that they actually are robots.
Because then I'd see less... well... Pictures Of Raunchy Nature.

Robot sex on the internet? It's more likely than you think.
I still don't wanna see a knight's "cat" pushed into my face.
Sorry, I have no idea how far I can go with these descriptions.
Whether or not they're robots won't save the knights from the internet twisting them into very scandalous positions
I thought the Spiral Knight things were just some form of ordinary organic life forms in power-armor.
We get wounded and subsequently tended to by medics (although they seem to just prescribe Mist Tanks...), we have gender identities, we cook food while out in the field sometimes, we breathe air (and smell it) and we have a full range of emotions. At most we're some kind of cyborgs, with our dependency on energy and powered suits.
@drmchsr0 What do we do when we catch *snipes*? We let them go, of course! *Snipes* do not like to be confined.
They are Final Fantasy Black Mages lost in a Zelda World.
The eyes aren't necessarily luminescent, they could just be highly reflective. (This is another way eyes can adapt to dark environments.)
So Knights have... cat's eyes? So Spookats attack us in a jealous rage.
So... if we have Mecha Knights.. what does that make us?
Actually I was hoping for some 34 of the knights. I'm thirteen and I support it. Sounds good to me. Very good.
It's part of the reason I'm hoping they actually have real form bodies.
But no 34 works too, as well. They can just be super-cute things that are...things....or something.
Did you just say 34!?
*dope slap* NO! BAD! NO 34!!!
Hate to break it to you pal, but Spiral Knights 34 already exists. There's even one out there of the Gremlins. I'll refrain from posting links, as I'm sure you can already see it in your head.
Really? This game has already been 34'd? That was faster than I expected...
Anyway, they do have a form. If you look closely at their heads through whatever helmet you can see their heads are cylindrical/cone shaped (easier to see with gunslinger series). All the armor is created to fit the same body type which has a standard humanoid body with fingers (I think 5) and extremely small feet.
Sorry to thread necro, but to answer the TS,
I submit this evidence for all to peruse and discuss.
*Guitar solo plays* "were fighting robots! Mega MAN!"
WHY!? WHY DO THIS!? WHY NOW!? WHY NOT TEN MONTHS AGO!
WTF MAN!? WHY THE EFF DID YOU NECRO!?
ARE YOU ILLETERATE!? WHY!?
W-w-why necro?
Since these dead threads are so outdated, reviving them really isn't anything but spam…
MEDABOTS "attack mode Metabee" "go get your friends" "it's time battle more robattle TILL YOU DROP" " more medabots" "don't lose control.. its time to make it TO THE TOP" "MOre POWer" "medaforce" "medaparts" ""medafighters" "MEDAbots, medawatch" "22nd century" "it's time to battle more robattle" "MEDAbots"
Interesting thing is that i am the last one to necro that thread before he did XD
Theres a joke in this somewhere but i am not seeing it XD
They have gender identity, at least. There's at least one Lieutenant that's referred to as a "she."
