It seems that this problem might be present for other users, judging by some of the threads, but they don't seem quite so well-explained.

It might just be me, but Steam's version of Spiral Knights seems to run very poorly, freezing often, until I told it to stop trying to login via Steam, and connect using Facebook. I thiught nothing of this freezing problem, until I connected by account with Steam. Now, because logging via Steam is the /only/ way to login, the freezing is unbearable; locking up almost every frame, for about 30 seconds at a time. The problem persists even whem I manage to successfully login and appear in Haven.

Considering the downloadable client works fine for me - and the Steam client also worked fine when I wasn't using a Steam account, I wonder if something must be up with Steam itself (in which case I'll be contacting Steam's Tech Support, but I figured I'd ask here first). I'm presently reinstalling Steam's SK client, and hoping that will gain me some results.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does using Spiral Knights Steam accounts cause freezing problems?

Yeah I also have this

Yeah I also have this problem.

Saw it was free to play on Steam so I checked it out. Loving this game and it was running fine until the Steam integration log on update. I like how I connect with my Steam account. What I don't like is that now I lag like crazy, when traveling in the clockworks I just die because it freezes, then updates to my dead corpse and enemies walking around.

I think this is an event of too much traffic running through the servers and if that's the case then it would probably take a while to fix but if there is something you guys can do in the meantime that would really be helpful. So far I really like this game it's just if I keep lagging and dying because of it then I don't see the appeal of buying energy to waste it on dying.
