Spiral Knights is a great game with an excellent environment. However I think OOO should provide a membership for perhaps $5 -$7 a month. The membership could provide:
1.Crystal Energy Allowance
2.New Clockwork Levels
3.Extra Slots i.e. the locked trinket and weapon slots

I really like the idea that if people decide to do membership they will essentially all be on a level playing field with the same opportunities.

People keep raging about "CE

People keep raging about "CE is a abuse" this, "everything is too expensive" that, and then someone appears suggesting a new way to people spent their money in this game. lol

As for your suggestion, sorry but no. Pay-to-be-god is the worst category of Free-to-Play ever.

Pay to win is terrible and

Pay to win is terrible and I'm so glad the OOO had the common sense NOT to do this.
and shutting out the majority of players from new content and areas is a horrible idea.

Why pay money for a free thing?

Why pay money for a free thing just for some stupid content that isnt worth it.CE already needs to be bought with money,or with CR.The extra levels is not good because,aren't there already about 100 levels in the game?Trinkets aren't that much help to me in my opinion.But others use them,and its their opinion.

pay to win huh?

you must have them turned around b/c i play wow also and you pay a fee every month and you earn what you get.

here you can keep shelling out money and buying energy and turning it to credits. people then can just become god mode with gear since they can jsut buy it out straight no earning or anything.

both systems have their downfall, but they should have a pay basis not extra areas for people who have a monthly sub but you don't have to keep paying for energy or slots for extra weapons or trink b/c you buy them.

people switched over to p2p b/c they know they can nickle and dime you for every sent you got. at least with other games i pay 15 bucks and nothing else.
unless you want to count an exspansion but that might be once every two years but you get regular updates and new content.

you can pay more money in this game and get alot less out of it.
