Shadow Damage? Really?

The Wiki is really lacking in a lot of ways, and there has been one thing I have never understood: what is Shadow damage really good for? The only thing I know about it right now is that it does less damage against the undead. My friend and I decided to get Antiguas, and just to keep it original, we both went down different paths. He took the Peacemaker path and I took the Sentenza path.

Don't get me wrong, blue bullets look cool and all, but as far as I know I'm doing less damage than he is, and I'm feeling a little cheated. Would anyone care to explain?

We're in the process of

We're in the process of trying to figure out just what shadow damage is for, and if you feel that the wiki is lacking, you are certainly welcome to join us by collecting data. Try to hit the same monster at the same depth with each type of damage, and see what differences emerge. Then log and share that information.

Also, dual damage type

Also, dual damage type weapons tend to be a little wonky in the balancing. Best you can do is make note and the Devs will read this. (They read darned well almost every single thing posted/emailed)

Shadow type

Asking around yesterday, Shadow damage seems to do more damage vs. beasts, but less against fiends and the like.

Useful against Wolvers, but too situational.

What enemies do shadow

What enemies do shadow damage? I haven't encountered/noticed anything at all so far.

I distinctly remember Dust

I distinctly remember Dust Zombies and Kats doing shadow damage awhile back, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I'm not sure if it's a bug or something temporary to be rebalanced but I do find it unusual.

Keep in mind, the Sentenza is

Keep in mind, the Sentenza is 100x easier to make than a Argent Peacemaker because the light gun needs a Sun Silver, something people would pay up to 100k for. Not to mention the guns are near identical, it'd be more worth it to use the Sun Silver on a Divine Avenger sword because it has one of the game's best charge attacks. (Multi hitting, wide area and piercing) Plus you're going to do more dmg than all the other guns so where's the worry? Yeah, the game has some balancing issues ._.;

Actually

Actually, the both do pretty much the same damage except against zombies.
Sentenza is a little little higher.
