It feels like the attack speed and recovery speed of charged swords is too sluggish. If it was an instant strong move, it would need the counter-balance of being slow. As it takes a full charge-up, it should be much quicker.

I agree. I've found that I almost never use the attack because it take so long to actually launch after I release it.
