I made a new account for my girlfriend on my computer and she doesn't have any energy. Why? Also how do you get enough energy to do any serious crafting if it caps at 100? Without buying it.

Buy it with crowns.
Mist energy (the free stuff) is shared by all free accounts on the same computer. So you and your G/F will continue to share a common energy pool as long as you are both using free accounts and the same computer.
If one of you were to buy CE (Crystal Energy) from OOO for real money (doesn't matter how much - just buy *any*), then that account is converted to a "paying account", which will no longer share it's energy with any free accounts on that computer.
As for enough energy for serious crafting, you'll *have* to buy CE. Not necessarily with real money, though - there's an in-game Energy Market where you can buy/sell CE for crowns. If you absolutely insist on staying F2P, it'll take quite a bit of patience to accumulate the crowns to buy the required CE for any serious crafting, but that's your choice - free or fast, pick one.
