I know this isn't SK related at all, but I can't let something like this go unknown. I hope there's enough people around here that actually remember the games before the Gen 4 category.

The Art of Video Games exhibition will explore the 40-year evolution of video games as an artistic medium, with a focus on striking visual effects, the creative use of new technologies, and the most influential artists and designers. We want you to help us select the eighty video games that will be represented in the exhibition. Remember, this is an art exhibition, so be sure to vote for games that you think are visually spectacular or boast innovative design!

Some of the choices are genuinely hard. Like Metal Gear Solid vs Crash Bandicoot: Warped vs Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

Lots of good choices there!

Lots of good choices there! And yes I certainly remember all eras, though the earlier ones are starting to get a bit fuzzy. Not sure if I can remember if they were all visually spectacular, but innovation seems clear still.

They should've hired me to make that list since I can think of at least 100 games that would be better suited to an art gallery.

Halo 2 and Halo 3? Did they like, get paid out by Bungie to promote their games?
Why not just put Reach? It's superior to 2 and 3 in every way.
Also, after I saw Call of Duty, I half expected them to put Rock Band in there or something.
That's how ridiculous this list is.
Most of the games on that list are cross platform, practically none of them belong on that list.
Except for about, four that I can remember.

There should be a PC category in EVERY ERA.
PCs were ahead of consoles for just about every era until mid 3/early 4.
(Curse you Moore's Law, CUUUUUURSE YOOOOOOUUUUUUUU)

I wish I could take my votes back and replace them with C4 charges set to explode on the day they release the exhibit.

Halo 2 was up against Jet Set

Halo 2 was up against Jet Set Radio Future and Psyconouats. Safe to say it lost big time for me. If you ever get the chance to play those two games please do.

And yeah, it felt kind of odd seeing Tomb Raider on a list other than for Playstation :/
