I have been playing the game for about a week now, no problems, both at home and at my college.

This morning, when I tried to log on, I clicked on my character, got the "Heading into town" message, and then after waiting maybe a minute or two, I got the above message.

To my knowledge, nothing has changed. It can't be a router problem, since I was successfully using this router with no problems for a week now. I have the specs, since I have been playing fine for a week now. I reinstalled Spiral Knights and Java as precautions, and made sure that my firewall allowed both Java and Spiral Knights through, and I reset my internet connection with no fix.

Can anyone help?

EDIT: I am at my college now, I will not be able to go home for about two weeks, so I'm hoping for a fix on my side (since I can't modify the college router) or some reassurance that this is a bug that will be patched soon? I have been trying to get on from about 2 pm to now, (which is almost 9 pm), every hour or so, with no hope or change in sight.

Actually, the first week that i started playing spiralknights I had no problem, The second week for about 6 days I had this problem, Then i didnt log on for 3 days..... The next week I was able to log on again, then the next week (which is now) I cant log on again..... = ( so i suggest we both wait for a few days...... it helps really.

Okay, I guess we don't have much other choice, haha.

I sent in a report anyway, in case that helps, but I just tried again this morning, and no luck, so that's 24 hours of no service now. I've heard people say this might be due to a Spiral Knights connections being mistaken for a torrent or something, so it sends too much data and gets blocked by certain ISP's at certain times, but I have tried at all of the times with no luck.

Something is proactively cutting you off, which hints at traffic inspection. If it was blocked entirely, the UDP session shouldn't have been able to come up. The game's authentication comes up as an unidentified protocol in traffic analysis, which is similar behavior to some torrent clients when they mask communications to a tracker.

Verifying it would take some basic network reconnaissance and a packet analyzer like Wireshark. Either way, if they do have that degree of control built into the network, the only way around it would be use a proxy service to tunnel through the firewall.... but it has its own set of problems and will cost some money for a good service.

You could try pleading a case to the network admin to allow traffic to and from the SK servers (they only use a small port range and theres a list of the server IPs the game uses), but its extremely rare for them to do something like that for a game.... unless you donate tons of money to the school, or have a prevalent user base the size of WoW.

I've been waiting for a few days now, and every time the same thing happens. Log in, wait for three minutes, and "You have been disconnected from the server." I had to make a new account just to join this forum because I normally log in through steam.

@omgitsb3n: A connection reset is a deliberate action done by firewalls or similar network elements. You should check the log files to make sure this is the same issue your having. If it is, then there is very little OOO can do about it since they don't control the systems that actually cutting you off.

Wacom, if anyone is wondering, is a Tablet pen driver.

Download and run the 2.0.4 "executable", and have it scan and create a log. I'll be able to pick out all the security software, tool bars, etc installed.

Using a Wacom

Hi starlin,

I'm using a wacom pen tablet and I think there is something from it interfering with spiral knights because I keep getting "The application has failed to launch due to the following error: Premature EOF"
