The main thing I'd like to talk about is how when i upgraded my lvl. 10 Trokia to a lvl. 1 Kamarin, the sword actually got weaker, which has been an incredible inconvenience, and frankly makes me upset with the crowns and energy i spent to make something worse.
I understand that at level 10 it will be far superior but thats a heck of a lot of time and heat away from happening. There should be some way to prevent an upgraded weapon from being weaker, even if it costs some more crows and energy, i'd like the ability to transfer heat when i upgrade a piece of equipment, because this seems like one more way the game is punishing the player for moving forward.

Also, I would like the option to play a healer/support character of some kind. The closest thing is a bomber but that really doesn't help in buffing the party.

Were you using it in Tier 1?

Nope. T2. My Trokia could get

Nope. T2.
My Trokia could get several 1 or 2HKOs that its upgrade started getting at level 4. Its still missing a few important ones. Like the a 2HKO on gunpuppies for example.

How's that punishing? People

How's that punishing? People will just jump to five star gear faster, and then they'll complain about "How it got boring so fast". Other thing is that the item's level might seem indeed pointless, as it is gone when you upgrade your gear. Makes crafting itself 'not worth it', when you can just buy yourself a 'cheaper' item at auction.
Item's level might also give a better chance of UV with a good effect. But I am afraid this will turn UVs not that unique.

I'm sorry but I didn't catch

I'm sorry but I didn't catch all of that.

What I think your saying is that an item being weaker is a challenge that we should all embrace and there may be unseen benefits to upgrading a leveled piece of gear.

What I'm saying is that an item's level is not insignificant because it does have a meaningful effect on the item's effectiveness. Especially in the slower weapons. When I upgrade to something for a not insignificant in game cost, then I want it to be better... or at the very least as good, or have some option to make it as good upon creation.

4* is significantly better

4* is significantly better than 3* so look forward to it.
