Can you have a total sword damage Maximum (+6) by using a Skolver Coat (+2) a Skolver Cap (+2) and a Barbarous Thorn Shield (+2) ?
Or is the total sword damage is capped at Very High (+4) ?
(I'm not talking about the UV added by the crafting but only the base bonuses)

There is no sword damage UV that I am aware of - am I mistaken?
I believe like said above skolver set plus barb shield = max sword damage, I don't think it would be possible to know if it can be higher, I guess UV damage to a certain mob type and see if it makes it any higher damage when wearing full skolver or half skolver or something.
using full skolver + barb thorn shield will render any damage bonus on your swords useless, as they won't go beyond maximum
this basically transforms the CIV into a weaker Leviathan if you go with full skolver + barb shield, making it a useless weapon for that specific equipment. I think this will also apply to wild hunting blade and all swords with an inherent bonus to a specific monster family
just like how you can use full ash tail set (medium sword damage) + cold iron vanquisher, and the CIV will have ultimate damage to undead and medium damage to everything else
Weapons with Variants can only go up to Very High.
Skolvers Hat and Coat + Barb Thorn Shield will give you Max Sword Damage.
The next thing you want on your weapon is ASI VH or CTR VH
