I had been playing Spiral Knights for a few days but not with Steam. Then, once the conversion option was announced I decided to convert. I converted the account on my Windows PC without hitch; I could log in using Steam without a problem. The problems arose when I attempted to log into the same Steam account on my Mac and also play whilst using this newly converted account. Much to my dismay, the checkbox that on my Windows PC that allowed me to log in with my Steam account was gone. After 4 reinstalls, updated Java, and even reinstallation of Steam the checkbox is still not there. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how can it be fixed?

Tried this a few times and still no dice. I even tried making a new spiral knights and steam account but that still didn't work. Are there any other solutions? Any help would be appreciated.

The same problem is happening
The same problem is happening for me. I have a mac and I unlocked some achievements in the game, but since my account won't use steam I can't unlock them on the steam client.

After Launching (with a mac)
I get a log-in screen asking for account name and password. There are boxes for quit, options, and facebook. And of course a box to click log on after entering the password

Expanding on LovelyLights' explanation
I'm having this same problem with my Mac. I, like Nyctrennis, first made an account on the Spiral Knights website and then merged it with my Steam account on a PC. After doing so, I am also unable to login on my Mac. To try and make things clearer, I've taken a few screenshots and attempted to explain the situation I believe several of us are experiencing.
Normally, if everything is working like it should, upon opening Spiral Knights in Steam, players should be directed to the Knight Selection screen;

Upon clicking the back button on a PC, players see the main login screen as it should appear. Check box and all;

However, on the Mac, players launching Spiral Knights from Steam are not directed to the Knight Selection screen, but instead to a main login screen that is missing a check box;

Before merging my account with Steam, I was able to use this screen to access the game with my website login. The only major problem was that no achievements would unlock in Steam, since they weren't linked. Apart from that, everything worked as normal. However, since merging my account on a PC, I can no longer log in on a Mac. A warning pops up telling me to select 'Use Steam Account'. However, with no box to check, I can no longer log in;

There appear to be some issues with SK on Steam for Macs that are being looked into. If you're a Mac user with these issues, you should also submit a support ticket to Steam detailing the issue (https://support.steampowered.com/).

I recently had the same problem and managed to come up with a fix.

If the login screen no longer automatically logs you into Spiral Knights when you launch the game from the Steam client, and there is no option there to login. Then please restart the Steam client and that will usually fix this issue.
