Hey just wanted to give a quick feedback on how I feel about the game.

First off, just want to mention that F2P is a great way to attract people to "try before they buy" who'd otherwise not be willing to "buy before trying", also even if they don't buy anything but generate referrals it's still a bonus for the devs.

Anyway, I'm one of the kinds of people that prefer to try before I buy, and that was my goal here. I've had fun grinding, and I really love the artwork and overall theme of the game, but I've reached tier 3 and frankly it was quite a disappointment to get there with 4 star stuff and be already in the yellow for danger (my 4 star stuff is levels 3 to 7). Not that that's so bad since I can survive OK, but having to try harder than a couple levels above but getting less heat is a big downer.

I'm a moderate fan of dungeon-crawlers like diablo, titan's quest or torchlight, but I have to admit I never bothered beating diablo 2 or torchlight. It seems to get to a point where I just feel like it's the same stuff just reskinned and randomized, and I'm at that point for this game as well. I feel this game is seriously lacking in depth and true replay value and as it is I wouldn't pay any real money for it.

I do have to say though that the non-turn based action is really great, the only thing that gets me about that is the lag and bad pairing with people overseas. The basic gameplay is nice and fun, cool it has strategy involved and something to lose, but in the end that's not enough for me.

If anyone has some advice for me or wants to say anything constructive I'd like that :)

an off-topic question

did you not finish diablo 2 normal difficulty, or do you mean hell difficulty? diablo 2 isn't that long a game, and it's quite easy to be done in a few hours (or a few days if you play sparingly).

Hi

I would just suggest to look at getting into t3 and being in the yellow danger as a good thing if i were you (i did when i was in your position). It just means that there is still more for you to conquer/do/a little more life left in the game :) It makes there a real solid incentive to keep advancing your equip.

But yeah, the step up in difficulty is a bit surprising at first lol.

Taking a different approach

I realize that mmo's train you to expect a lot of play-time from games, but consider this. You played the game for 77 hours before getting bored of it. If you had been playing a traditional console game, you'd have beaten it 4 or 5 or more times by now. 77 hours is nothing to sneeze at.

@jeburk - Like I said I can

@jeburk - Like I said I can survive OK, it's the crap amount of heat you get for your effort.

@cenyth - I think you missed the point. I didn't say it was hard I'm saying it gets boring so I didn't care to beat them :P

@diggity - true, but this is a game that wants money on an ongoing basis, so my point is that there doesn't seem to be much of a point, especially after end game.

I'm too lazy to type out a well constructed paragraph so here are my bullet point thoughts.

1) Firestorm Citadel is amazing. If you stop playing before experiencing it you are missing out.

2) Spiral Knights has alot of room to grow.

3) Play the game casually, just use your Mist Energy when you have some spare time and just keep slowly building your account. When a new dungeon or feature is added that brings more replayability you'll be able to enjoy it more and for less.

Main fact is

Players that dont want to depend on wasting their money is gonna quit the game because they have to wait too long before they can play .. this game should atleast let the mist regenerate faster... i reached tier 2 in a day and a half making alot new friends.. but getting disturbed by the fact i have to keep waiting for the mist to regenerate ...

8 days, 3 hours, paid 75 cents for the second account. SK has the greatest F2P system I've ever seen.

7 days, 18 hours. I haven't paid a cent to OOO and I'm at full 5 star gear. This game is only 2 or 3 months old? In the next few months it'll probably be HUGE. And they're making that new boss right now and it'll be released soon so wait for that.
