does the heat earned from monsters depend on the depth one is fighting in? I know it does depend on the number of players. In other words, would I be able to level 5 star equipment in depths 1-7 the fastest, since the enemies die faster there?

Do one star and five star equipment need the same amount of heat to reach level 10?
Oh nooooo.... 5* needs much more heat... no precise stat at hand but was fairly obvious last time I had 3* and 5* needing heat at the same time.

Yes.. there is more heat the lower down you go.
There is no big difference within a tier, but between tiers the difference is kinda big.
