Is anyone else experiencing horrible lag in dungeons lately?

I've noticed a lot of runs I've been on with more than one person have fallen victim to very "macine-gun" like lag spurts.
I run on Ventrilo with my team and the others don't seem to notice it.

I've also attempted bringing the window size, resolution, and graphics settings down, individually, or all at once, and it hasn't fixed it.
It's strange because this was never an issue when I started a few weeks ago.

I run a Mac Pro 2008 Dual 2.8 Ghz Quad Core Xeon system (8 cores)
8 GB ram
512GB DDR5 ATI Radeon HD 4870 graphics card.
I have well over 600GB free of hard drive space.

Cheers

Think of the game very

Think of the game very briefly becoming a fast, stop-motion animation, or a slow flip-book.

Also, I notice it more often when guns are being fired. The autogun seems to affect me the most.

You mean, like, "the rubber band" effect, or a spike lag? It seems to be pretty common.

mmm..not even spikes per say.

mmm..not even spikes per say. Because there's no delay and then catching up.

And yeah. I get lots of rubber banding, but that's server-client communication (by the way, whose idea was it to make the client always bow to the server on positioning....worst. ever.)

But no. this is almost like a choppy lack of smoothness. Like I said "machine-gun" if that makes any sense. Makes it very hard to block and maneuver.

Im laggin bad too

I logged in today and and its not even playable for me. Yesterday was fine game ran smooth and everyday prier to that, but today is just awful everything is running in frames this is ridiculous. Also I even clear my cache and well just about everything I could think of and even reset my router but I still keep getting repeated rises and drops in game status connection. And even when the status is high everything is still skipping around whether its the arcade, the town square or the dungeons.

Mmm, then I don't know how to help you. There's something similar to what you are describing wich is texture flickering, but I think that is not your problem. Anyway, here are some instructions to deal with that.

Tested again today, as the game was very smooth for most of my runs.
When it picked back up it seemed to stem almost exclusively from gunfire. And again, the gun in question that caused the most stress to overall performance was in the Autogun line, albeit a higher star version.

This stutter lag causes issues with turning, aiming, and due to the general choppiness avoiding blows, which makes it very hard to play.

Just some thoughts...

Perhaps it has something to do with the sound settings in your OS. Or perhaps the sound file for the gun is corrupt. What OS are you using? If using Steam, try verifying game files. You could also try reinstalling the game(it's a small size anyway). Perhaps your sound drivers need to be updated.

Hope I could help,
