i noticed that you need 200 energy to craft 3* items

so you get 100 automatically from mist energy, but in order to get 100 more i need to get it in the form of CE? so if i have 100 mist energy, and buy 100 energy with crowns from the energy depot will that be added onto my CE? or is that type of energy only for mist energy?

You got it right, 100 mist + 100 CE bought from somewhere (depot, player, etc.) and you're good to go...

i would recommend buying ce from players not the energy market. sometimes u might get lucky and get some for cheap.

I would recommend not even

I would recommend not even crafting a 3-star item unless you need to for some reason. Generally you can buy the item itself off of the auction house for cheaper than it costs to craft it.
