Aussies having ag issues?

Anyone having big lag issues at the moment, especially when dealing with smaller mobs?
yesterday evening i found myself being a complete hindrance in a dungeon as i kept either missing mobs (when they in all rights should have been taking hits) and dying 2-3 seconds after the last mob near me was killed. and it wasnt just me seeing this weird phenomena, other people in my group were commenting on my odd death situations.
example, first half of the 2nd tier terminal, the oozes that meld together: killed 3 or so with a new T2 slasher blade, took maybe 1 bar damage in total, once the tophalf of the area was cleared and the second wave spawned, i took massive damage (6/7 bars) and ~3 seconds after the damage occurred the mobs move towards me and attacked.
also, running a top notch computer, adsl 2+ 1.3mbps DL / .7mbps UL. never had any real lag issues in any game (excepting an occasional random D/C)
ive noticed its been getting worse over the last few days, anyone have similar stories?

Have you guys tried to use a VPN? Someone in the game told me that using a good one greatly improves latency.

You learn to deal with it, i just find it annoying on days when there's less lagg and all my timings are out.... them spike traps make be so mad when i run to early. It doesn't help playing on a laptop, but i run most high end games fine. cbf to do vpn stuff, I'm a console gamer...PC's are my weakness.

Hmm. I must say that I am intrigued by this VPN idea, but lack the prior knowledge and/or technical expertise to set one up. I don't suppose anyone might be able to point me in the direction of any newbie-friendly tutorials on the subject?
Also, forgive my technical ignorance on the subject, but to set up a "good" virtual private network for use with this game, would we need to own or have access to a specific server that is next door (or as close as possible) to the SK server?
I was going on a JK run. Everything was fine until we got to the palace. All of a sudden a giant lag wave hit me and I couldn't do anything and was eventually disconnected. I reconnected and this repeated for a bunch of times. Luckily the lag stopped and we were able to defeat JK unhindered, but I tried another JK run the lag wave killed 2/3 of the party leaving the other guy to fend for himself as we tried to reconnect over and over again.
BTW, I'm in America and I usually don't have this problem.
