OS: win7 64 bit
Java: latest version for 64 bit
Processor/GPU: AMD Fusion APU E-350
GPU drivers: latest version

Still maxing 11 fps via fraps..

The same appears strangely smooth at 11 fps but, All it is going to take is a single mob to drop it like its hot.

Any suggestions?

I'd be thoroughly impressed.

I'd be thoroughly impressed. That thing has half the power of the next closest card in the series, which is a budget 6450, and about on par with an old 4350. Those things were not meant to be used for anything more intensive then video playback and some flash.

Your only options are to turn down the graphics details to low, drop your resolution, and use Compatibility mode in advanced options. Or get a new computer.

I understand that it isn't a desktop.

That is why I have a custom built desktop.

On the other hand, my lack of being impressed stems from the fact that my desktop can max crysis, and only gets about 30 FPS average on this game. Heck the max I've seen on this game is 41 on my desktop.

Playing with settings from what I've seen has not affected FPS at all.

While I realize my netbook is more geared towards movies and the like than hardcore gaming.

There are videos of games which I thought would be far more demanding than spiral knights running at higher fps.

I guess I should have checked the FPS on my desktop before I assumed with my netbook, but I try to not obsess over FPS so long as a game is relatively smooth.

My thoughts...

In a lot of games the lack of FPS has to do with the game engine, not your hardware. For example, that netbook of yours can pretty much max out Torchlight, with no lag, if I remember correctly. I myself have played Spiral Knights on a laptop with 4GB DDR3 RAM, a i5 460(2.53Ghz Dual Core) and an AMD Radeon HD 5650. The game still lags, even on lowest settings(especially in the arcade). Check in the AMD Catalyst and play around with the 3D settings(AMD Catalyst could possibly interfere with performance, but maybe not with Spiral Knights). You could also try allocating more memory to Java(which the game runs on), although I'm not sure how to do that(just Google it). Something else that could help is downloading and installing the 32Bit version of Java(you can have both installed at once). From what I understand 64Bit Java is only used in 64Bit applications(which Spiral Knights is not, I think) like Internet Explorer 64Bit(which - I don't think - anyone uses). Also, if using Steam, it will not use Java that you downloaded from the internet, but rather a different one in the Steam folder(I think the non-Steam version of the game does use the Java in your Program Files folder). I recommend not using the Steam version as the Steam overlay, and Steam by itself can reduce the performance.

Hope that helps,
