It would take him about a minute to find out.

I doubt the ban would carry across games, although whatever behavior got him banned in the first place is likely to get him banned again.

Not necessarily. Waaaaay back then, I was suspended and tainted on PP and that blocked me from playing B!H (long since been resolved by now). But the taint never blocked me from Whirled. So my answer is you won't know until you try it.
