Friends have told me that Arena areas get you the most crowns, but I'm wondering if that is true, or if there are areas that get you more?
What areas are best for getting lots of crowns?

After arenas and graveyards it's clockwork levels, since they have a chance of having a danger room.

Double post: I think aurora isles are highly underrated. They give much more than graveyards or clockworks with danger rooms, possibly even more than arenas. The jelly aurora isles on depth 6 of Coral Rook gave me over 2k in pure crowns, not counting materials or tokens (though the other levels in T1 of that gate were unremarkable). That's insanely good for a Tier 1 level, though maybe I just got lucky.

@Silty - no you didn't get lucky. The Jelly Farm levels of Aurora Islands provide extremely high crowns and heat. The one on D6 of Coral Rook is roughly comparable to one of the Gloaming Wildwoods levels leading up to Snarby.
If you're looking for *easy* crowns/heat in T1, Coral Rook is a great option at present - all of the levels are quite easy, and if you wait it out to get to the Jelly Farm it's about as profitable as a Snarby run.
No arenas are the best, danger zones are usually a good investment too (unless you're in a bad party) and the levels just before the Royal Jelly are pretty good too.
If you factor in mats selling, some T3 levels are really worth it too...
