It's not cutter fast, but it's not troika slow.
Your swing animation should be happening pretty quickly--half a second, ish. If it seems like it's taking a long time, it's probably graphics lag. Consider turning your graphics settings down. (I'm not a CS guy, but my understanding is that latency--server to client lag--won't affect how long your swing animation takes.)
It's pretty middle of the road. Closer to a flourish than a sealed sword type.
