Cold iron and Leviathan

The cold iron Vanquisher does a little less damage overall, but MUCH more damage to undead. Many people say that the CIV also looks cooler, but that it opinion. hope this helps.

Stretching the truth a little

Stretching the truth a little bit there. Levi does around 10 more damage to EVERYTHING, while CIV, does about 15 more damage to undead. So, Levi is superior.

10 damage may as well be 0.

Cold Iron Carver and Vanquisher definitely look cooler.

Also, 10 extra damage doesn't matter nearly as much as most of the forum community would have you believe. It's highly unlikely that the CIV will require more swings than the Levi against a particular enemy, and in the end all that matters is number of swings to kill. This is the same reason that UV damage bonuses (especially low and medium) are largely irrelevant.

Not necessarily. Charge attacks are to be taken into account.

Charging should be rare

Charge attacks should be rarely used compared to regular swings. If you're constantly running away to charge, you're leaving your teammates to do the bulk of the work. Also, DPS is significantly higher if you just swing your blade instead of charging it up.

Really, charging swords should be rare

I play T3 plenty and the only thing I ever charge is a bomb. T3 sword and gun charge attacks aren't important. At best, it's painfully slow to run and charge compared to slashing and shielding. Most of the time, it's just a cheesy strategy that, as I said, forces the rest of your team to do most of the killing. If you're solo, do as you please, but if you're in a team, slash/slash/shield should be your go-to-attack. Charge attacks are good situationally (and always worth charging up at a party button), but most of the time they are slower and less effective than regular swordplay.

Unless they're constantly running away to charge. To each their own tactic.

You clearly haven't used a Leviathan before. The main attack you use is the charge attack; at worst it does equivalent DPS as the 3-slash combo, and if a mob is walled/cornered/frozen it does significantly more.

The Leviathan does more damage overall than the CIV and from what I gather, it also has a larger knockback on the charge attack. It's superior in all ways; the only reason you should get a CIV is for the look.

@metaphysic

Also It works better in Firestorm Citadel. The dmg vs undead is VERY helpful. overall, the levi is better.

Does anyone actually use a CIV as their main weapon in FSC though? I've only ever seen 3 or 4 players even carry it into FSC in over 100 tokens worth of runs; even then they only used the charge and kept the DA as the main sword.
