I wasn't sure where I should put this thread so I apologize in advance if it's in the wrong spot.
About a week ago one of my friends had his account information stolen. A few days after it happened, I found the person
who now has the account. He told me he didn't take it but after some tests I came to the conclusion that he indeed was not
my friend and he did take the account. Further on in our conversation, this person told me that he was able to obtain a
certain about of CE through a website. I did some research on the website and found out that it is a website created by
someone either playing Spiral Knights or who is just familiar with the game. I learned that the website is offering free CE
and Crowns, all you have to do is "fill out a survey that contains questions about your account information. "Once the
information is filled out this person or group of people is then able to access your account and change the password.
I'm sure that a lot of you know it is not wise to give out any information related to your account but as a new player free
stuff is tempting. I am posting this as a warning to everyone just to let you all know that there are people out there who
will try to get your information.

Please be careful about the information you share and try to stay away from sites that you're unsure of.

I wasn't sure what the best way was to go about sharing this information and I don't think anything can really be done.

Well, duh.

Also the programs that you download for infinite CE or infinite crowns that 'require your username and password so the free money program can log you in and generate your instant wealth' (or whatever the exact text is, I'm not dumb enough to run one) ... ahem, those are also just traps to steal your account.

Also anything else that asks for your username and password is just a trick to steal your account. There's no genuine service out there that needs your username and password.

If you see those, please be sure to flag them as spam -> fraud. The Youtube folks have been pretty good about taking them down.

You give out your account info and password, you pay the price. Not like it doesn't say in the corner of about every other load screen to not give out your account info.

also be very careful on who u trust

others may say it works but dont think its true some scammers make other youtube accounts so that they can comment on thier videos sayin how good it is.
REMEMBER always check the commenters account and see what they have been on and liked if they liked the vids that are from the same scammers account then dont trust them. i am very careful on wat i see so to others please do that is is very useful.

this is for not just spiral knights hack also for mmo games

You know, another one of OOO's games, whirled, offered free bars in exchange for surveys. The difference was that OOO advertised this themselves (you can trust OOO's more than another player), and it didn't require your name or password.

I wonder if they'll ever do the same for CE on Spiral Knights? I thought the surveys to get bars were always interesting.

as we all know, players who have recently joined a game may feel that they are really behind, and want to find a fast way to get some coin ingame (which ever game it may be, its not just SK) This is where the scammers come in. they create realistic websites (which unless you know how the internet works youll believe anything) that will lure noob gamers to give their account info in exchange for ingame currency.

I almost had my Runescape account taken away when i was looking for an easy way to get some gold. i had password recovery questions set so i was smart not to trust it too much, but still stupid enough to enter in my info. Luckily not too much damage was done, i lost all money and my full rune armour set, but with a way to get money INGAME, i didn't need to worry.

The point is, Never trust sites that give free stuff unless its from the company itself. OOO takes pride in helping players, be it special offers or the occasional ingame appearance. Your account on any game is something you shouldn't think of giving away. It's yours. Keep it and have fun with it. It's what you created it for!

Im not that stupid for somebody to scam me. Even the videos, it sounded so good to be true, but I know its a scam. Theres no such program that needs your password to get everything. The proof is probably edited. Usually they steal your account.

Theres another scam that I need to warn you guys. And Im not sure that many people would know it. Its the "Double Scam". Basically, they ask you to give them all your stuff so they can double it. It sounds too good to be true too, but its a scam. You give it to them and then they either stay and refuse to give it back, dont respond back, leave the game or change to another haven. Now there trying to get all your stuff by begging.

To be honest, why would you want to hack? It takes out all the fun in the game. You have all the stuff you want, so you really have no reason to play anymore. Really, it puts your account at risk AND you lose the fun. How is that worth downloading software which you don't even know much about? It's not worth it. Don't hack.
