Several weapons got nerfed/buffed in the latest update. From what I have noticed so far:

Striker line got nerfed, losing about 25% or so of their attack. This decreased damage by a lot for me - Nearly half, I'd say. Seems like too much of a nerf.

Sealed Sword lines got slightly buffed.

Autogun lines got slightly buffed.

Shields are finally fixed.

I'm quite sad myself because of the Striker line nerf. While I agree a nerf on it would be nice, this nerf was a bit too extreme. My Avenger is dealing about 3x more damage than my WHB now - Even though it's way slower, it's managing to dish out way more DPS because of this nerf. Even Winmillion is looking better than my WHB now.

Opinions on this?

And for the devs, a question; Was this whole nerf on Striker really needed? Although it was pretty powerful, other swords such as Winmillion or the Sealed Sword line would still be about as powerful, sometimes even more than Striker on certain situations - I'd always preffer using my Avenger over my WHB when hunting jellies or undeads, for example.

Lol, haven't played after the patch but seems like it's the whole alchmer/heavy all over again.

Guess when things hit a all time low we'll get a buff to make things better again..... wonder when will the caliber line get a re-work.

What happened to the Calibur Series, Blaster Series and Blast Bomb Series of weapons being the baseline for all other weapon balancing?

I don't even-

Why would they nerf the Cutter series so much?
I've spent the past week working up the energy and crowns whenever I wasn't busy, to upgrade my Striker to one of the paths, but now I'm hardly keen on going any farther for now.

I guess I might as well check out Spur for once.

Unfortunately being a fan of the Striker series, this disappoints me greatly.
However, also being a Winmillion fan, I kinda like it.

It feels like there was a well deserved buff for the Winmillion, though I'm not sure if they were actually buffed.

The thing that made the

The thing that made the Cutter Series of swords OP was the charge attack.

Completely stunlocking a monster, or group of monsters, is OP. If the stunlock only applied to monsters in the initial cone of attack and not monsters who enter it after you started attacking, it would be far less OP. Also, if you allowed people to cancel their charge attack, by blocking or by attacking again, it would balance out the decreased usefulness of the charge attack.

As it is now, I can just hold down the shield for the entire attack, so that when I do the final attack, I deal damage while I smash forward with my shield, knocking everything away.
It's extremely effective on everything slow moving, as well as gremlins who get tossed in the air after being hit by a combo.
And with the right amount of charge reduction, you can simply chain the charge attack.

I do agree that they needed to deal less damage, maybe 10% less or 15% less. But reducing their damage then increasing damage on weapons that didn't need to be increased just creates more flavour of the month weapons.

I agree with Shoebox, with the damage output of the cutter line relative to the other weapons I think it will fall out of use similar to the Troika line.

I need to give my old Khorovod a test later to see how it stacks up against my Wild Hunting Blade. I think it's attack bar may be a little higher now.

I'm liking the Sealed Sword line buff, my Divine Avenger now feels like it's doing an appropriate amount of damage.

I'm liking the Autogun buff even more, but only because my Blitz Needle feels very overpowered now and I can cut though anything that isn't undead or jelly with ease.

To clarify, I'm pretty sure the Autogun line did not get buffed in this update, at least the tooltip doesn't indicate it. I compared my recipes to the images that have been on the wiki and they all look identical to me.

Autogun? More like auto-none!

I can confirm that the Autogun wasn't affected by the sword balance patch. The only guns that were changed in that batch of adjustments were the Antigua (which was hitting too hard) and one of the Magnus line of handguns (which was charge attacking too soft).

Magnus

Unless its damage changed, the change to Magnus seems to have happened before this patch. The charge attack now has a bit of a blast radius, although it's a bit biased away from the thing you're hitting.
Unfortunately, Magnus's auto-aim is usually a bit too strong to blast multiple enemies at once. At least it knocks goblins down.

Light bulbs!

That's actually another problem I have.

With that assisted aim turned off, my charge attacks still lock on to the nearest enemy within a certain distance.
Is this a known issue or should I report this in the forums?
