Fiery Pepperbox 4* completed, used in an arena, first level of Tier 3 results in 50 damage per shot. Upgraded to Volcanic Pepperbox 5* level 1, same arena on first level of Tier 3 results in 38 damage per shot.

While I like the upgraded cool visuals for the gun, I don't like it losing 24% of it's staying power now that it is 'better' - seems like a big waste of time and effort. I could maybe see the damage being the same and the potential going up with more heat (not very satisfying for me the player that just sunk so much effort into the upgrade) but having it be worse just seems horribly wrong.

So, can someone please tell me this is a bug and my Volcanic Pepperbox will someday be better than the lower * version?

Once you level it up to level

Once you level it up to level 10 it should be stronger. At least that's what I've heard people say. I haven't actually upgraded anything from 4* to 5*.

The base attack power for a

The base attack power for a lvl 1 upgraded item is usually at least as much as the lvl 10 precursor, so that you don't lose anything on upgrading.

My guess is that when too=powerful items are scaled to their current tier, it uses a simple scaling factor: ie "power = 1/10 * maxpower". Realistically, there needs to be a floor to that calculation, so that the power of the item doesn't go below the power of the 3* item it was made from. (since the 3* item isn't scaled down for tier 2, but the 5* item is) It really is silly to spend 500 energy and get a weapon that's less powerful than its precursor in a given tier.

Really imo, which is just my opinion and only that, when you upgrade a gun, spending, in the case of 4* to 5*, 300 energy + crowns + materials, the upgraded gun should start out doing at least, if anything, a couple more dmg then the level 10 version of the 4* gun you just upgraded. It really makes no sense to upgrade a gun only to have to spend several more hours and energy, playing through levels to level up that weapon to do dmg equal to your old gun. Last I checked an UPGRADE is a better version of the previous weapon... I ofc know this could be just a glitch in coding and will be fixed once they figure it out. I'm just giving my 2 cents on the subject.

This should also apply to all tier's, a 5* gun should do more dmg then a 3* gun even in tier 1 and 2. It just makes sense, the gun is UPGRADED and therefore should do more dmg. You wouldnt go out and buy upgrades for a gun irl only for it to shoot less accurate, or be less powerfull! If you did, you would be taking those upgrades back to the store and asking for your money back!

I've had similar results with upgrading from the Antigua to the Silversix. I don't know if it's all the piercing damage, or if it's just not as awesome as it used to be, but i'm doing <30 a shot to the slimes mid tier 2/beginning tier 3.
