I'm upgrading my T2 Wolver Set to the T3 Dusker Set.

Do I need to "level up" my T2 set to 10 Level before upgrading? Because I know I can upgrade it up before level 10, but do I lose any bonuses if I do?

Upgrade any time, no penalty.

The Dusker Set is 3-star, not T3. You need 4-star gear to get into Tier 3.

You can upgrade 2* items to their 3* version immediately. 3* armor needs to be heat level 5 or more to be made into 4*, and 4* must be level 10 to be made into 5*. There are no bonuses for leveling up your gear more than required before upgrading it.

Sorry for the double post,

Sorry for the double post, BUT is it cheaper to just skip 3-star gear and buy 4-star gear from the Auction House?

Make your own.

It's definitely better to make your own gear.

4* gear is automatically bound to players now (because it has to be made from level 5 3* gear) so unbound 4* gear only exists if it was made a while ago before the gear binding change and is thus rare and quite expensive. Even 3* gear is typically sold at a good profit for the seller, so unless you find an unusually good deal in the auction house, you should just make your own. You'll save some crowns and also get a chance for a useful unique variant.

I even make my own 2* gear because I just have fun hunting down recipes and materials and hoping for UVs (I use mist energy to craft on days I can't play), but it is cheaper to get 2* gear in the auction house if you use up your mist playing daily.
