I'm pretty sure that the sentenza path has increased dmg to slimes, reduced to undead.

Argent Peacemaker has increased dmg to undead, reduced dmg to slimes.

The antigua's dmg has no reduced or increased dmg, so it should do about the same dmg to every monster, which makes it stronger against slimes against silversix, and better dmg to undead to the blackhawk. The silversix does better against undead and blackhawk does better dmg to slimes

Note* this is my opinion

Jellies are weak to

Jellies are weak to Elemental, so they should take more damage from the Silversix than the Blackhawk.
But since I don't own a Silversix, I can't say.

But once again, dual damage weapons aren't additive, their damage actually gets nerfed separately, so instead of adding those two bars together and going, whoa I should be dealing twice as much damage, you're really getting about the same damage split into two types that have two separate strengths and weaknesses.
That's where the whole damage thing comes in, your shots added together would be better, but they're not.
So when it rolls against higher armour, you deal less damage than your previous weapon because the damage is split into two lesser forms when it hits.

I think that's what the problem is.
I know one of the devs said there was an issue with dual damage weapons before.

Jellies are also resistant to

Jellies are also resistant to piercing, I believe.
It's broken like that, for the Silversix. What it has an advantage over, has resistance to another attribute, rendering Silversix's highlights moot.

issue

I have an issue here. Its very stupid these two weapons are never gonn be effective, just ineffective! This really needs a fix asap!!

For my Blackhawk, Shadow and Piercing:
Against Beasts, Piercing should be effective, Shadow normal -> Damage dealt is normal
Against Machine, Piercing is ineffective, Shadwo normal -> Damage dealt is lower
Against Demon, Piercing is normal, Shadow is ineffectiv -> Damage dealt is lower
Against Jelly, Piercing is weak, Shadow normal -> Damage dealt is lower
Against Ghosts, Piercing normal, Shadow weak -> Damage dealt is lower
Against Gremlin, Piercing is normal, Shadow should be effective -> Damage dealt is normal

JUST INEFFECTIV AND NORMAL!! FIX THIS D:

Shouldn't the weapons work

Shouldn't the weapons work like this? I haven't used them so I'm not sure. Even the wiki suggests it works like this.

Silversix has elemental and piercing meaning anything WEAK to one of those and NEUTRAL to another will take increased damage (I believe this is Undead and Fiends)

Blackhawk has shadow and piercing which means its powerful agains (I think) Beasts and Gremlins.

BTW, 5 month old topic... just saying

Jellies are weak to Elemental

Jellies are neutral to elemental damage, weak to shadow.

Display Bug?

From what I've heard, there's a display bug for what color the numbers show up for dual damage types. For example, my Sentenza sometimes shows blue (regular) numbers on wolvers (weak to pierce, neutral to shadow) but it still does more damage than it would to slimes (weak, strong) or constructs (strong, neutral).

One thing I'm unsure of is how much damage is increased or decreased from weaknesses and strengths. So, when shooting slimes for instance, which should be weak to shadow and strong to pierce, I don't know whether the resulting damage is higher or lower than neutral. If anyone knows that, I'd be curious to find the answer.

As far as I've seen and

As far as I've seen and played, the damage bonus numbers only really show up on Tier 3. My Blackhawk only had highlighted numbers on Gremlins and Beasts when I did Tier 3 runs with that gun (I've since changed to a Storm Driver).

The solution I think OOO

The solution I think OOO should take with the antigua line, and gun balance in general, is:

Make silver six / ardent peacemaker do pure elemental damage

Have the blackhawk / setenza line do pure shadow damage

Release a new gun line using t1 boss tokens doing pure pierce damage (it is pretty much the "pierce" weapon boss anyway)

Have the new gun line carry mechanics similar to the antigua line but with perhaps 2 less shots per clip (4 shots) but with increased speed like the callahan has, so it can hit the annoying dodge mobs (who are typically weak to pierce anyway lol)

If these changes were done, the AP would be the indisputable king of guns, much as the DA is now for swords. More importantly, these guns which currently are gimped by having split (contradictory) purposes, would have a defined purpose, which they are able to fulfill completely.

That sounds like a very good reason to NOT make such a change. There should be no "best" weapons. I'm happy with the AP the way it is. It's already good enough.

The DA is not the king of swords, at all, its a slow 2 strike sword that does a lot of damage, but damage per second my combuster does much more.

It isn't good enough though -

It isn't good enough though - guns are notoriously under powered. The best damage I can do to a mob is less than the worst damage my friend does with his swords. That's right!! Big orange numbers for me are lower than the small grey numbers for him :\
That's with pure damage type weapons too! (umbra, storm, callahan) The antigua line split damage means they get 1 out of the 6 mob types to deal even moderately enhanced damage to, with 4 completely bleh mob types.

And what is wrong with having a weapon be the "best?" It is unavoidable, there will always be a best gun. The DA is the best sword. There are situations where it sucks, but it is still the best because MOST situations give it the advantage. Making the AP pure elemental (as well as the other pure damage type weapons I suggested) would still yield less damage than a swordy, but would actually put us on more equal footing. Gunslingers might finally get taken seriously in this game <_<

As it currently sits - as a dedicated gun slinger - my armor is actually bomber armor <_<
Why? there is no really good stat for gunners <_<
Damage increase? Damage is so pitiful, it would have to be a 50% increase to matter.
Attack speed increase? It's okay, but with reloading times (or the delay between shots needed to avoid reload) you're basically shooting the same speed with or without asi...

Charge time reduction? I charge my gun maybe 4 times on a full tier of levels...

But for a bomb (I have 1 bomb weapon equipped always, it is either fire or ice, adding the new shock bomb to the lineup soon though) cdr is HUGE and even as a main gunner I will lay many bombs when I play. Every gauntlet room I'll lay 1-3 bombs as each wave starts to get the aoe ice / fire on the room before I switch and gun them down. If I have swordies in my group their damage so far out-classes my guns I basically stay bombing b/c switching would just waste time...

So currently - as a main gunner, I have umbra, storm, callahan, and a bomb, with mad bomber cap and volcanic bomber armor.

Oh yeah, the Combuster line is the best elemental Sword overall. Good chance of Strong fire in a Charged attack that blows away foes and hit's more with the explosions is pretty great. I imagine that with UV that decreases charge time, that thing would be a beast.

I end up using it more for JK runs that the Silent Nightblade.
