Which do you prefer, normal or elemental defense UV?

I'm kinda stuck in a situation where I could either buy normal or elemental defense as UVs for my armors.

Let's just say these UVs are at the same level (so both are low, or medium or high etc.) which would you prefer to buy? I'm still in tier 2 so is there a specific damage type that becomes more prominent that I need to be weary of once I reach tier 3?

Any tips of what UV to buy for the future; normal or elemental?

personally id say go with

personally id say go with fire or shock resistance instead of any defense, but i would like to hear what others say too

At Tier 2 or below, normal is

At Tier 2 or below, normal is the best because everything deals at least half normal damage.

But otherwise, I like shadow since the most annoying monsters tend to inflict it.
