Material looting fails?

Everytime I get least of them, I mean seriously.
Sometimes full chat window is about "Someone-but-not-you got X-material"
At the leaving screen my list of materials is sometimes HALF shorter than others, and no I don't have more of one material.

What's up with this?

Am I only one experiencing this?

I would like to see it divided by:
1: If no one is around, then material is given to the person that picks it up (for example: someone's fighting 1vX with monsters, and materials are going to others... NOT fair/everyone's dead and they still get them)
2: Otherwise if whole team is working together, materials should go in order
1mat = 1member
2mat = 2member
3mat = 3member
4mat = 4member
5mat = 1member

That would be fair imo.

The RNG is brutally fair.

The RNG is brutally fair. Suck it up like the rest of us, or play solo if you want to farm for mats. Also, you may have joined a party partway through a strata, which would explain why your list is shorter. The system you propose is very prone to gaming, hence the total random distribution.

That said, I just had an idea to post in Suggestions.

Ekhm, I'm goin with full party or 3 people right from Moorcroft Manor.
I don't want strictly farm for mats, but would be nice to get them so I can get profit...

How you see it fair?

Yeah, it's totally

Yeah, it's totally random.

Some people are always lucky enough to get the best materials, some other people are usualy less lucky (AKA me) to get TONS of green shards but no 2** materials :D

But the
1st mat - 1st member
2nd mat - 2nd member
3rd mat - 3 rd member
etc

makes sense to me.

Nope

That would be a bad idea. It would be nowhere near as fair as the current system. The reason for this is because such a system can be exploited very easily.

I'll give you an example. Let's say you are next in line to get a mat. The next mat that anyone grabs goes to you. On the ground are a red shard and an iron gear. If you are the closest player to them then you can choose to get the more expensive gear. This isn't fair to the person after you in the order because they're stuck with the leftovers. If they are closest then they can first touch the cheap shard (which you get stuck with) and then grab the gear for themselves. This would not be fair to you because you get stuck with the leftovers.

I got an idea also for this

I got an idea also for this situation.
Make them (materials) not drop on ground, but get into the players inventory.

And anyways even without it it would be more fair than what is now. I would like to get at least crappy materials instead of none.
But oh well as I said it can be immediately given to player (after slaying monster)

@ Hammurabi

"The next mat that anyone grabs goes to you. On the ground are a red shard and an iron gear. If you are the closest player to them then you can choose to get the more expensive gear."

Hmm... What about you would get the material that DROPPED first, not the one that is picked up first?
You know, if the Red Shard dropped before the Iron Gear, then you would get the shard and next player the gear, regadless of which order someone pick them up.

(I don't mind the current distribution system, it's just an idea that might work.)

like i said on the other

like i said on the other thread;

I have a better idea, everyone gets the same material when someone picks it up (or you have to pick it up yourself, like hearts), drop rates can be lowered then

I dont know why materials work like that when everything else is shared

Ugghhh... That's probably not

Ugghhh... That's probably not very good idea, gia257.

Materials are ridiculously cheap in the AH, because it's already easy enough to obtain them. No need to make this even easier.

I think i said they'd lower

I think i said they'd lower the drop rates for parties since they are multiplying them, in the end its the same total number of materials given per run, gee
