It's just that no-one can't play now when energy prices are 25k, 30k & 40k ea.
So the game should open for all, that there would be something to play with, because there would come a lot players, who would pay for energy.
Energy prices and game opening..->
In the longterm, energy is far more valuable than crowns; eventually you run out of things to spend crowns on. That needs to be rebalanced in order to create a reason to sell.
EDIT: Wait. That's a new screenshot? There were several offers last night in the neighborhood of 100k crowns per 100 energy, and all my intermediate offers (20-40k crowns) also sold out in a 9-hr window. That's a lot of crowns.
When the game launches, you will see plenty of energy in the market because of the "at launch you get all the energy purchased back +25%"
What happened is that someone massed huge amount of crowns through ec to crown trades and then brought out all the cheap offers..... leaving the market with the expensive offers.
I totally didn't tell everyone that was going to happen 2 months ago.
When the game does open up, a lot of people will be buying energy as well. More players = more purchases = more CE on the market. The more supply, the less the demand. They need to work out a long-term plan like Pauling said, but at launch it will be relatively cheap.
Now we are running out of energy, that means we can't play even 10 depths / 24hours, that means that we cant get minerals for new gates and these will stop right away at tier1. This means that atleast now people stops playing and there will be only few players just chatting & waiting for the launch..... :(
that means that we cant get minerals for new gates and these will stop right away at tier1
I thought that the minerals required to make a gate scaled with how active the players are/how many minerals are actually spawned. Otherwise we would definitely have a Catch-22 with regards to gate depth.
I don't know, but i've seen that these gates, where isn't much minerals deposited, have stucked in tier1 or 2.... but I can be wrong, and you still got the point? There isn't so much to do if Energy runs out.

He isn't lying either, haha. Though, opening up the game doesn't seem like a solution at this point - more short term than not. We just gotta encourage everyone to buy energy and support Spiral Knights. :) I'm an idealist, what can I say...
