What happened to Alpha Squad?
Well, now that there's 4 modules out presumably one of each member (I've never seen the FSC one since I'm in tier 2), assuming that there are only 4 of them like a regular party, I want to brainstorm with the community as to what happened to them and possibly other parts of the SK story.
I know the members are:
Euclid the leader
Parma the scout
Rulen the technician
Grantz the heavy weapons guy? Someone fill me in on this one if you can, From Rulen's description he seems stronger then the rest so he must have heavy equipment.
So what do you guys think? I think that they might be locked up in the core and possibly corrupted so they become the final boss when the core is released.
Such positive theories...

Since there are 4 modules now, I think there will be one more (and this next boss is of the fiend family, or in other words the fire beast Vog,) and that recon module will extend the story about Alpha Squad (or of Clockworks and the Gremlin King.) If Three Rings is going to release a level in the core area, here's how I think it will go:
1. This will be a Tier 3 Gremlin Area. (Recommended types of weapons would be Shadow and Elemental due to the enemies's family placement.)
-Gremlin enemies of course will be the Crimson Order since they're the only Gremlin that see/serve the King.
-Due to common monster family pairing, Construct enemies can also be found in this area.
2. The level area will have 4 different levels leading up to the boss (Like the Firestorm Citadel,) and each area will have a Construct miniboss, and each time you defeat one of these minibosses, one of the Alpha Squad members will be freed, but each area also has a status condition theme to it (Freeze, Poison, Shock, Fire, Stun, or Curse.)
3. The boss will be the Gremlin King Tinkinzar.
Consider a few points:
If the Alpha Squad were indeed "swallowed" by the core, then the core is technically too dangerous for anyone to enter, meaning Clockworks would never be able to expand as a dungeon, so there would be a limited amount of content available and may cause Spiral Knights to go down the drain.
So, what I believe has happend to the Alpha Squad is that they are trying to set up communications so that they can contact everyone outside the Core and making a forward base inside. This could allow for a new dungeon in the Core, with new mobs, more gears and weapons that only function in the Core due to it's strange power, with the sole aim of getting to the centre and finding the power source to help the Spiral Knights power up the Skylark and go home.
My 2 cents :P
They fell inside the core and became Trojan Knights.
