For Royal Jelly you need a powerful sword and lots of poison, and for Lord Vanaduke you need lots of fire resist, among other things. I'm thinking of which gear you would need to go through the Ironclaw Munitions Factory and defeat the Roarmulus Twins.

My first guess for 3-star gear, since it's a stratum 4 boss -
Armor: Elemental Cloak or Surge Breaker Armor
Helm: Elemental Hood or Surge Breaker Helm
Shield: Horned Owlite Shield or Surge Breaker Shield
Weapon 1: Cryotech Alchemer MK II
Weapon 2: Nightblade

This guess is based on the fact that constructs and gremlins all do elemental damage, and a lot of the items from the vendor are related to shock damage.

Anyone who has beaten the boss have any thoughts?

I never really experienced

I never really experienced the need for shock resist as anything that applied shock is easy enough to block, and the main source of damage in the fight is from the oodles of missiles pouring out of everything. I do agree with stacking on elemental defense and bringing a shadow damage sword. (Shadow mainly to deal with Quicksilvers.) A gun helps, especially one that freezes for taking out puppies, but if you are paying attention to your surroundings it isn't necessarily needed.

I just used my DA and Acheron, no problems there. Was using Vogs armor and a barb shield so I had 0 defense vs the relevant damage.

Against the boss you want a good sword because you only have a few seconds to actually damage them and you need to pack as much damage in as possible. A gun would make the fight take much longer because it just can't put out the damage when you need it like a sword can.

My only recommendation is either an Avenger or ice/fire brandish. After that having the appropriate armor will help, but won't make nearly as much of a difference. If you can dodge the damage then go offense and end it faster.

Grelims all do Normal

Grelims all do Normal damage.

And there's barely any of them in there, mosty mecha knights and zomboids, a lot of gun puppies and scuttles.

I have made it through with a party of various gear. I think it's safe to say that it's more about keeping your eyes open and to have a team which understands how the various switches work.

Gunslingers

If you plan on gunslinging your way through here keep in mind that any alchemer is gonna bounce everywhere hitting switches like mad. Only damage you need is elemental and a smidge of shadow.

Easy goin'

The whole factory is pretty easy if you look at the Royal Jelly. It just takes much longer.
Shock resist would help but is not so important. You can avoid all the attacks of the boss and you also can avoid or block all other attacks there. I guess a gun would be pretty useful for all the levers. Did it yesterday :D

elemental and normal defense,

elemental and normal defense, fire and shock statuses, preferably on the shield (so owlite is great). I say shield because all these attacks you will be shielding from, but of course in case you screwup your armor can be the same.

There are slimes too but not THAT common except for one fight and slimes are easy to handle, at least with swords.

this is probably overkill but...

I tend to take..

- Combuster (for all the constructs)
- Acheron (for gremlins and healers + jellies)
- Argent Peacemaker (for the switches, range)
- Shivermist (for crowd control and easy slicin' and dicin')

For shield I have Owlite for the shock, but not much else xD

I don't think the gear

I don't think the gear matters to greatly since the levels are pretty straight forward. If anything, bring an elemental sword for the boss and maybe a shock resistant shield. My Dark Thorn Shield breaks extremely fast on those electric panels (I think its two hits from full health) shock resistant gear may help too if you're in the middle of hitting something when a Retrode shoots you with a laser. The most ideal gear to have would be anything with a strong elemental defense with shock resist, so anything down the Elemental mantle line except for the Chaos items.

While the Surgebreaker set works, I don't think its really worth getting it even if its just to run this dungeon since it maxes out at 3*

You have the right idea

You have the right idea. The Ironclaw Munitions Factory (in it's current incarnation) is a is a shock/construct strata. Surprisingly, it has very few gremlins in there. I guess the whole thing is automated.

But be careful as the level is more skill based then Jelly King. Good gear will help, but you need good dodging and multitasking abilities to beat the boss. If you are running in a team then team coordination is paramount.

I just cleared IMF, and trust

I just cleared IMF, and trust me when I say that the enemies there are the least of your worries.

The traps and the rockets are much more severe concerns. The only real problems you'll have with enemies is that they like to spawn on top of you when you're not expecting it. Retrodes and Scuttles are the most common enemies, followed by Gun Puppies. Few Mechaknights (Mostly in Danger Rooms) and Gremlins (Thankfully no demo Gremlins).

There's really never that many enemies at any one time. It's really the opposite of the Jelly Palace where you'll easily be surrounded by several Jellies/Constructs. Here you'll face a few Constructs/Gremlins, but you'll have to deal with a lot more complicated traps.

It took me a while to understand what they wanted me to do in the last Danger Room. :(

Just cleared it solo with the following:

Cutter lvl 10
Cryotech Alchemer Mk II lvl 10
Owlite Shield lvl 10

Only had to rez myself once when THIS:

Happened.

Other than that, the entire place is perfectly doable if you practice safe kiting and don't kamakazee HADOUKEN your way through things.
