The Grey Owlite Shield has resists to Fire and Shock. Does this mean that when I take a hit from Fire or Shock, the time will be reduced or does it only refer to when my shield is hit with a Fire or Shock move? I've been really confused about how these armor stats work. If someone can direct me someplace where I can learn up or if you can explain it to me yourself, I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

Think of the shield as a

Think of the shield as a person itself instead of part of you. Unlike your armor, your shield has its own health and resists that only apply when the shield is up. Hope that helped.

So if I want Shock resistance

So if I want Shock resistance for when I'm already in Shock, I should probably invest in getting either my armor or helm Shock proofed out then?

your shield wont save you a bit once you're shocked, so yes.
