Just a way to recognise a guild
take as example maplestory's guild system very accurate and enjoyable same goes for dofus.
Also a so called guild cape or armor piece with the unique emblem.
As far as creativity within a emblem i suggest a own designed one where one can use pixel art to create its emblem.
no idea how u will block drawn porn or hentai someway.
No doubt about an guild emblem is a must.
Guild emblem
If the Guild Emblem was going to be the same height as the in game text, it would have to more like 10x10 to appear next to the name.
To add to this, you can make a special place on the shield to display the emblem smack dab in the middle of it (optional as a costume type thing) and a cape would be nice, or just beside the guild tag. Its a good idea and many games have them. Wouldn't mind seeing them implemented.
An idea of the kinds we could have could be mimiced by the varying gates' icons that we have.
Just an idea though of course.

might be placed on capes or shealds
Plainly and simply said, whatever object or an item you could imbue with the emblem of your own is what the Guilds need. Tabards, banners, rugs, the hat of your own personal guild piccolo and so on - you name it. To prevent unwanted images/art that offend others, you could have a button to report the developers about the inappropriate guild emblem and a choice to cross which then prevents you from seeing it again until you remove the cross.
Best of Day! O(^_^)O
Have a variety of guild costume sets (somehow) only available to guilds made for the sole purpose of displaying an emblem.
I like the idea of customizing guilds' appearances. It really wouldn't have to be much- maybe just something like a small 50x50 or 100x100 image next to the guild name. As far as censorship goes, I don't think anyone would be silly enough to put that kind of thing in the game. If they did, they'd most certainly get reported and the problem would be resolved with soon enough.
Capes I think are a little more complicated. Armor pieces- maybe not a unique armor piece, but if you could see the guild emblem on a knight's chest or shield, it'd be pretty cool. The problem with that is most armors/helms/shields already have inscriptions of some sort on them and it's hard to put an image over that while maintaining the general appearance of the armor piece.
