The only trinkets I've ever

The only trinkets I've ever seen in the auction house are Heart pendants of various types.
And I believe that those can be dropped by monsters, so are found unbound.
As far as I know, other trinkets are all bought for tokens and can't be traded.

Heart pendants used to be

Heart pendants used to be unbound when found. They changed them to bind on pickup a few months ago.

I found one recently and it

I found one recently and it was bound when I acquired it, I assume they are from earlier on in the game before they became bound, sort of a Grandfather clause?

Binding.

The trinkets you see on the AH, were gotten from love puppies before the binding update, and the more sold, the less left. They are from extremely rare love puppies, which sometimes spawn instead of a regular gun puppy And then, there's only still a tiny chance to get a trinket.
