whats the best UV for an archeron?
I was consider VH vs slimes because that would be a great jelly killer but now there is a gremlim boss and shadow is good against both, so would i be better off with attack speed? the charge attack wouldn't be that great and I already working on a VH CTR glacius.
I agree, CTR is better on Glacius/Combuster, go with ASI instead.
is it? well i was thinking like another medium asi archeron, since i already get very high attack speed from vog cub.
I went with Vhigh vs gremlins. Combined with my barb shield that gives me Maximum! vs them. Being able to take out gremlins (especially the healers) with a charge attack or combo is a godsend. Makes danger rooms and 3 healer fights a breeze.
I am completely not worried about slimes, they're so easy to deal with that bonuses vs them go to waste.
ASI is definitely god for this wep. I can pretty much assure that I get all three hits on a jelly without getting hit (this is with High ASI - no item level CTR bonus). With no ASI I find I can only land 2 hits before having to shield (results may vary depending on lag). Also v helpful vs gremlins, and I can still get good use out of this wep against beast and contructs。 This means this wep can be my standard wep - just switch to other wep for undead/fiend (which I have a blizzbrand with high UV vs fiend for). Leaves me two slots for bombs/guns/upgrading weps.
few things to consider.
1. price. ASI on a nightblade is very pricy. Getting a VH vs gremlin or slime would also be v good but I expect is quite a bit cheaper.
2. number of weapon slots. If you using 2 wep slots then its well worth getting more use out of the acheron. Consider getting a UV vs beast (or construct). Coupled with an elemental wep (say DA or Glacius) with UV vs fiend you can take on any mob while dishing ou good damage. Or can do same with a a peircing wep with UV vs undead.
3. CTR - i havent tinkered much with it on my acheron - without the CTR UV its too slow for me to consider using. At max CTR this could be rather good (VH wep + med for lvl 10) as the damage is very good. Just not my style of play for me to consider investing in this (I dont have calibur so not a CTR spam junky ;) )
While I'm sure ASI is very good on an Acheron, I must point out that I don't have any ASI on my Silent Nightblade and I can easily pop off 3 hits on a jelly without getting to hit or having to shield. Jellies attack in a strange way and the Nightblade's knockback is just enough to prevent getting hit. I personally would say aim for CTR because the charge attacks on the Brandish line are damaging and effective without making you vulnerable for a great deal of time.
well I have full vog and working on barberous thorn shield, so i'll get VH attack speed from armor and medium dmg from my shield, so buying a medium attack speed brandish isn't too expensive probably could pick it up for 1.5k ce, I guess its confusing debating whether to get good damage VS slimes/gremlins or just stick with attack speed to be good against everything
Depends on how you structure your set. I personally run 3 swords (DA, Ach, Flourish) so I go for specific damage mods against the types that give me the most trouble. I use 2 piece vogs for ASI. If I were to do that the other way around and go for skolvars armor and ASI on the weapons the price would easily be 10x higher. Also odds are I would never get an ASI boost to my DA which is the weapon that really needs it. So I chose to sacrifice a bit of damage against things I consider easy to maximize my effectiveness against what I consider threats and saving as much money as possible.
