Instead of having to upload all those images, Why not do what WoW does and have a 3D model of the item?
3D Models for the Wiki!
Well, actually what we would need to know FIRST is the encryption of the .dat files.
Without that there's nothing we can do. Well, we could recreate the models and unwrap them, or rip them from the game somehow, but seems like too much work.
I have been trying to find out to see if I can mod some custom armors into the game, but I'm not much of a file format hacker.
Also, we could make some incredibly cool 3D renders with raytracing.
That's actually against the Terms of Service (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Terms_of_Service#6._Restrictions), so don't go trying to upload our game assets to the official wiki.
However, I personally really like the idea, so perhaps down the line Three Rings itself may be making certain 3d models available on the wiki. We'll see!
Yay!
An admin likes my idea.
Maybe I am good for something here. xD
But yeah, It's kinda hectic when we have this LONG list of needed images and then when an art update comes they need to be updated, same with stats.
It just seems better if the weapons got tied into the Wiki.
>6.1 of the ToS
Bawww
Can't this be changed after the game goes live? ;_;
Modyfing the graphics mostly :<
If you want to invest the effort into creating 3D models in a format easily accessible on the wiki, I'd be interested to see a demo. This is a volunteer effort, so what we do is limited by:
a) What can be displayed clearly and without extra plugins, and,
b) What we volunteers are willing and able to do
