I have full rock jelly armor, cold iron carver, and freezing atomizer. I'm going to eventually get royal jelly armor and a cold iron vanquisher, but I'm not exactly feeling the bomb. So with my jelly gems would it be better to get the sealed sword or Antigua? If I get he Antigua id go with the blackhawk version. I'm not sure about the sealed sword route though. Just wanted to hear your guys opinions. If you have another weapon you would recommend instead of the sealed sword or Antigua feel free to put it down. Thanks :)
Sealed sword or Antigua
I plan on reaching the core someday. The sooner the better.
Most would probably agree that the Sealed Sword is your best option with Jelly tokens. I for one agree with this and am a full supporter of the Avenger line. Faust line isn't too terrible either, but it's usefulness tends to stay limited to Jelly runs.
As for Antiguas, if you're insistant on one at least promise me you'll avoid the Blackhawk. The Blackhawk is baaaaad. Avoid it like the plague. The other line at least has it's usefulness in FSC. Regardless, both guns are rather lackluster because of their split damage with piercing and will never outshine any of your other gun options.
So yeah, you should probably go for the sword.
Yeah, I had heard that Faust is only good for jellies. I probably would have avenger. But there are 2 questions I have. What's so bad about the blackhawk? It has farther range than the silversix. Also what isthe deal with this split damage? It only does half damage?
Faust only good for jellies? I would say the opposite, heavy swords are bad for jellies because it makes it harder to dodge their spikes.
Wouldn't a faust be good against gremlins though? Out of all the weapons I tried so far, I find taking on axe gremlins the easiest with a troika because you can push away hordes of them with one swipe then run back immediately, causing all of them to miss. Faust is similar, and it even has a damage bonus against gremlins!
Alrighty:
you arent limited to just one of the four. you can get all of em.
if you arent worried about putting a tad more effort in, buy a Sealed Sword, upgrade to Faust, spam Jellly more with Faust and Fiery Atomizer/Vaporiser/Ash of Agni (super fast runs imo), when you get another 25, buy Sealed Sword, make Avenger (good for anti robots and undead), spam some more jelly, even faster now because you can take out mechs in a few hits, gun puppies in 3-4. one more jelly king spam sesh will get you an Antigua, go for Silversix.
the antigua line is pretty... average. as said above, the damage is split between piercing and elementall, or piercing and shadow. piercing and shadow is pretty horrible unless youre fighting wolvers... which dodge your bullets. jellies are resistant to piercing, so you end up doing less damage than a 3* blaster.
the silversix turns into argent peacemaker, something which almost everyone agrees is essential on Vanaduke runs, due to its 6shot pierce/elemental
+ quite decent charge at that depth (vs undead, which is next to everything down there).
tldr version:
1. Faust
2. spam jelly more
3. Avenger
4. spam jelly more
5. Silversix
then youre pretty much set to spam jellly for crowns, then buy recipes to make Divine Avenger and Argent Peacemaker so you can do Vanaduke runs.
So even though my cold iron vanquisher will have high damage against undead, I'll want another weapon strong against undead? But you're right about doing the jk runs a lot. it would probably be best to be as versatile as possible and that seems like the way to go. I just have a bad feeling about having 2 swords at one time.
I have a CIV, DA, Faust, Argent Peacemaker, Ash of Agni, making a 5* thorn blade. its good just to switch between em occasionally. remember DA is very good vs machines as welll - gun puppies, retrodes, lumberers and scuttlebots. For Vanaduke runs, most people i talk to seem to generally agree, if you can, you should go for a DA, CIV, Argent Peacemaker, and Shivermist for a manageable run. truth be told, despite the amount of gear i have, tuned towards Vanaduke, im prone to temp-quitting SK every like.. second day, so i never end up getting down there. (epic lag makes it unbearable in JK sometimes).
but yeah, anyway, having multiple weapons of the same attribute isnt a waste or something to feel ashamed about. somedays you may feel like playing a cutter, others you may feel like playing a troika. other days you may wanna just blast bomb the core out of everything :P nothing wrong with that
I don't understand why so many people think they only need one weapon set and one armour set and one shield. I have a four shields, two armour sets (intending to get a third), three swords, five guns and two bombs. Switch your gear for each stratum!
I'd agree with crimsonsteel and go Faust, Avenger, Silversix. Leave the blackhawk, it really is useless. Faust/GF is great for jelly runs, slime stratums and fairly good for gremlins as long as you do single hits and shield cancel. Works fairly well on wolvers, too. DA is beast in Firestorm, anything undead, and gun puppies. Again, be wary of the second swing attack, it makes you vulnerable. Get the fire bombs for jelly runs, they kill things off quickly and are pretty useful in other stratums too. Upgrade your ice bomb when you start doing Firestorm runs, makes the entire run smoother IMO. I wouldn't even say the silversix/argent peacemaker is essential in Firestorm. I love my Storm Driver down there, it's great on zombies and it shocks Vanaduke plenty. I'll get a peacemaker for soloing him, but otherwise it's definitely not necessary.
The reason I don't have 3 armour sets and 5 swords and 4 guns is because of all the time it takes to get it to level 10. My cold iron carver barely moves a mm on heat sometimes...
Heat one thing at a time and do a snarby run. It's decent heat and really easy so you won't have to do tons of them to heat things up.
Hmmm, what are you planning to do afterwards, keep fighting jk or aim for vanaduke?
